Mrs. John McKeown Dies At Age of 85

At St. Theodore's Church Friday at 10 a.m. for Mrs. John (Mary) McKeown, 85, who died Tuesday morning at the Conner Nursing Home.

Mrs. McKeown who had lived at 824 Willow for 31 years, had been a patient at the Conners Home since April, 1963. She had been in failing health for some years. Death resulted from complications.

The daughter of John and Julia Ryan, she was born June 8, 1879, in Steele County. She attended schools there and also Albert Lea High School and taught school before her marriage.

She was married to John McKeown at Blooming Prairie in 1899. They made their home aon a farm near Twin Lakes until ????? they moved I\to Albert Lea. He was a deputy sheriff in Freeborn County and died in 1941. Three daughters and a son surviving are Mrs. Francis (Jewell) Dunbar, Leland, Iowa; Mrs. Ray (Alice) McDonald, Owtanna; Mrs. William (Mary) Nall, Freeport, Ill., and Robert McKeown, Casper, Wyo. Four sons Tom, Phil, Richard and John preceded Mrs. McKeown in death. She was also preceded by four sisters and a brother. Twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren survive. Mrs. McKeown was a member of St. Theodore's Church and Rosary Society. The Rev. Robert Kulus will officiate at services. Burial will be at St James Cemetery, Twin Lakes. The Rosary will be recited Thursday (Difficult to read).
