Myself I am a Norwegian historian. I have written the "Bygdebok for Lesja" and are working on a similar book for Lom, both parishes in North Gudbrandsdalen with heavy emigration to the US. A major settlement both for Lesja and Lom grew up in the Lake Hanska-Linden area of Brown county in the late 19th century. Anyone with roots in these two Norwegian parishes might ask me for help, by e-mail to [email protected]. In particular I myself am reseaching the BROSTE family of Lake Hanska/Hanska. Yours, Arnfinn Kjelland, Associate Professor, Volda College, Norway Arnfinn Kjelland
I have recently obtained the "Brown County (New Ulm), Minnesota Pioneers and Their Families" publication by Dr. L. A. Fritsche. I would be happy to do lookups for anyone. Gretchen Beck
