David Albright enrolled, at age 23, for service for the duration of the war on June 7, 1861 as a Private at Camp Moore in Captain George Clark's Company (Continental Guards), 7th Louisiana Infantry*. On Sept/ Oct 1861 roll he is listed as absent sick at Culpeper, Virginia. On Jan/Feb 1863 muster roll it states he is wounded and missing at Sharpsburg, Md. He actually went missing September 17, 1862. On Mar/April 1863 roll it notes he died as a prisoner in U. S. of wounds (compound fracture of thigh) received at Sharpsburg, Md. He was a patient at U.S.A. General Hospital at Frederick, Maryland and that was where he died on March 17, 1863 (at age 26). He was buried on March 18, 1863 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Frederick, Md.

George M. G. Albright volunteered on March 5, 1862, at age 34, to join Company "F", 53rd North Carolina Infantry for 3 years or war. He has enlisted at Alamance County, North Carolina. He was appointed Captain on April 30, 1862. He served for a short while as a recruiting officer. He had been wounded at 3 pm on July 1, 1863 during the Battle of Gettysburg, Pa. He was captured on July 5, 1863 near Boonsboro, Md. He died as a prisoner of war on July 16, 1863 at U.S.A General Hospital at Frederick, Md. He had been first admitted to the hospital on July 5, 1863. Cause of death listed as gun shot wound in right knee, which was amputated. He was buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Frederick, Md on July 18, 1863. His widow, Jane E. Albright filed a claim May 21, 1864 for any monies owed her deceased husband.

On April to June 1862 muster roll it shows he is absent sick on furlough from June 26 for 14 days. He is reported as captured on September 17, 1862 at Antietam, Maryland. He died on October 1, 1862 at U.S.A. General Hospital #1 at Frederick, Maryland of his gunshot wound and Fibres Typhoid. He was buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Frederick, Maryland. A claim for assistance by Caroline Blanton, his widow, for Ambrose Blanton was made by her attorney on August 15, 1863.

He had been elected Lieutenant on March 15, 1864. He was wounded by a gun shot wound to the neck and taken prisoner on July 9, 1864 during Battle of Monocacy, Maryland. His wound caused a fracture of his cervical vertebrae. He was admitted to U.S.A. General Hospital # 1 in Frederick, Maryland. He died there on August 13, 1864 and was buried the same day at the nearby Mt. Olivet Cemetery. His cause of death is noted as; "effusion of blood in spinal marrow, which caused paralysis and then death"

On muster roll ending October 31, 1862 it notes he was absent sick at Winchester, Hospital.He is absent sick on all rolls at various hospitals until July/Aug 1863 when it notes he has been missing since July 14, 1863 at Falling Waters. He was captured at Boonsboro or Williamsport, Maryland on July 5, 1863. His name is listed on a roll of prisoners of war at Seminary Hospital at Hagerstown, Maryland dated August 1863. He next is listed as having been taken to U.S.A. General Hospital at Frederick, Maryland on August 14, 1863. He was admitted for typhoid Fever, from which he died, at age 22, on August 24, 1863. He was buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery at Frederick, Maryland on August 25, 1863.

His service was to be for 1 year. On Mar/Apr 1862 roll is listed as absent sick in hospital since April 18, 1862. No further record under this company.   The next record for him is as a Private in Captain Thomas J. Kirkpatrick's Company (Amherst Artillery) Virginia Light Artillery. They served in Nelson's Battalion, formerly 31st Battalion Virginia Artillery. He had been transferred by order of General Lee from Captain Fleet's Company. He was wounded by gun shot and captured at the Battle of Monocacy, Maryland. He died on July 9, 1864 at U.S.A. General Hospital at Frederick, Maryland.
* Company was organized as an infantry company in May, 1861. It served as Company K (1st) in the 47th Regiment, then became Company B of the 55th Regiment. During February, 1862, it was transferred to the artillery. Apparently Alexander joined when it was still the 55th Virginia Infantry.

He died there on October 6, 1862. He was buried at the nearby Mount Olivet Cemetery.
His mother Priscilla Goodwin filed a claim December 21, 1863 for any monies owed for her son's service.

He had previously been at General Hospital #9 at Richmond, Virginia. At that date it notes he was 22 years old. He was given a 50 day furlough. He was captured on July 10, 1864 after having been wounded by gunshot to the neck which fractured his vertebrae during the battle of Monocacy, Maryland on July 9, 1864. He was taken to U.S.A. General Hospital at Frederick, Maryland where he died on July 14, 1864. He was buried at the nearby Mount Olivet Cemetery.

J. B. Horne was conscripted on July 18, 1862 at Cumberland City, Cumberland County, North Carolina for the duration of the war. He was mustered in as a private in Company "C" 3rd North Carolina Infantry. On the July to November 1862 roll it notes his sick at hospital at Staunton, Virginia. He was wounded at battle of Sharpsburg, Maryland. He was captured that same day and taken to U.S.A. General Hospital #1 at Frederick, Maryland where he died on September 26, 1862 of his gunshot wound. He was buried at the nearby Mount Olivet Cemetery.

He was given a furlough. He attained the rank of 4th Corporal. He was wounded by gunshot and captured at Antietam, Maryland on September 17, 1862. He was taken to U.S.A. General Hospital # 1 at Frederick, Maryland where he died on September 26, 1862. He was buried at the nearby Mount Olivet Cemetery. His father, Richard H. Hunt filed a claim January 9, 1864 for any monies owed for his sons service.

He extended his enlistment an additional 2 years. He was wounded by gun shot on July 9, 1864 at Monocacy Maryland. He was captured on July 10, 1864 at Frederick, Md. and taken to U.S.A. General Hospital where he died at age 24 on the same day. He was buried at the nearby Mount Olivet Cemetery.

James M. Johns enlisted at age 35 in Captain Bailey's Company 5th Regiment Florida Infantry* on March 4, 1862. He was to serve for 3 years. He was wounded by gunshot in his left thigh which later was amputated. He had been admitted to U.S.A. General Hospital # 5 at Frederick, Maryland on September 26, 1862. These compiled records say his date of death was October 5, 1862. His death was a result of a hemorrhage of his femoral artery after his leg was amputated. He was buried at the nearby Mount Olivet Cemetery. A claim was made by his widow Susan J. Johns on June 5, 1863 for any monies owed for her husband's service to the Confederate States.
