DEATH TAKES TWO VANDERBILT WOMEN

Mrs. Hiram Winters died February 24

Old Resident

Mrs. Cynthia Winters, wife of the late Hiram Winters, a Civil War veteran who died January 5, 1928, was born in Farnham, Canada, January 13, 1851, and came to Otsego County nearly fifty years ago, died February 24, 1928.

She was united in marriage to Mr. Winters at Allegan, Michigan. Seven children were born to this union of which six survive: Mrs. Ella Rush, Mrs. Bertha Morse, Mrs. Grace Galloway, Mrs. Effie Galloway, Leon E. Winters and LeRoy Winters. She also leaves thirteen grand children.

Mrs. Winters was one of our oldest residents and was loved and respected by all who knew her, for she was a Christian mother and friend, cheerful, hopeful and patient during an illness of many months. She died at the home of her daughter, Effie Galloway, Friday February 24, 1928, and was buried in the Vanderbilt Cemetery, Rev. W.C.L. Phillips of the Vanderbilt Methodist Church, officiating.
