LANDLADY OF STUDENTS DIES AT 81

Mrs. Evelyn J. Whitman, 81, who operated a rooming house for GMI students for 25 years, died Thursday in Hurley Hospital.

Mrs. Whitman, of 919 Gladwyn Street, lived in Flint from 1912.

Services will be 3 PM Monday at Reigle Funeral Home, 4305 Clio Road.

Mrs. Whitman leaves two sons, Charles B. an Arthur J., both of Flint; two daughters, Mrs. Rose Mackey, Detroit, and Mrs. Marion Townsend, Oakland, California; a brother, Charles Fulmer, Mackinaw City; 21 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.

[*Note: Evelyn "Eva" Fulmer Whitman was the second wife of Elmer Arthur Whitman. "Art" was the son of early Otsego County Pioneers, Reverend Barnabus Horton Whitman and his wife Mary Jane Wells Whitman. "Art" spent all of his growing up years in and around the Charlevoix and Otsego County areas. His first wife, Daisy Ackert Whitman died in Elmira. Art later married Elmira resident, Evelyn "Eva" Fullmer.]
