Death came to Joseph W. Koscielniak at his home in Chester Township on September 20, 1967. He was 32 years of age. Koscielniak was born in Gaylord, Michigan on December 10, 1933, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Koscielniak.

His schooling was received in Johannesburg and his marriage to Arlene Hart took place on April 26, 1958, at St. Mary Church. He was employed at the Gulf Gas Station in Gaylord.

Monsignor Francis Kaminski officiated at the funeral service, held at St Marys' on Saturday September 23 at 9 a.m. Nelson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery.

Arlene Koscielniak survives her husband, as do the three children, Cathy, Kevin, and Kenneth. His mother Rose Koscielniak and brother, Paul, of Flint, also survive, as do four sisters; Mrs. Rosemarie Koronka, Florence and Gertrude, all of Gaylord, and Sister Loretta Rose, of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
