EVERGREEN HILL is located 8/10 of a mile straight north of Vanderbilt on Yuill Road. At north end of Vanderbilt where US 27 angles to the west, jog east onto Berry Street and then north on Yuill Road. The cemetery, which includes a little more than 17 acres, was acquired in three separate transactions.

1) The original cemetery on the north end is a little over 2 acres and was acquired before 1889 (no record of this transaction is on file in the County Court House).

2) On March 11, 1899 the Corwith Township Board of Health purchased approximately 10 acres from Abraham and Gertrude VanAuken for the amount of $275.

3) In March 1944 the Corwith Township Board of Health acquired more land from the estate of the Yuill Brothers, which brought the cemetery to its present size.

Existing records on file indicate that cemetery lots were sold as early as 1897 but they were probably not the first. The earliest gravestones (4) are from the 1870's. There are 53 tombstones dated prior to 1897. There are 29 dated between 1890-93 indicating that the cemetery may have opened during that time period. There are approximately 907 gravesites on the listing compiled in 1981 by James J. Carey for the Otsego County Historical Society.

Records are held by Corwith Township.
