History of the Society
In 1978 the Society was incorporated as a non-profit organization.
We are dedicated to preserving the history of Ogemaw County and its
families.
Among our goals is to collect and preserve materials which may to illustrate
the history of our area.
We are located at
123 South 5th St.
West Branch, MI 48661-0734
The split stone building which houses the museum was built by Garvis Weiler
in the 1930's. It had been a residence until the time of its
purchase by the Society.
Admission to the museum is Free!
We are open Thursday and Friday 10:00-2:00. Anyone wishing more
information or to schedule a private tour at a different time should call the
Curator (989) 345-1643
Meetings are always open to the public. They are the first Tuesday of
the month April thru December at 7:00p.m.
Society members are willing to help you with your research needs or family
history.
