Midland Genealogical Society - Meeting Schedule

Meetings

The Midland Genealogical Society meets at 7:00 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month from September through May. Meetings are not held in December. Meetings are held in the lounge of the Grace A. Dow Library unless otherwise noted. Directions are available on the library page.

Each meeting includes one or more speakers along with normal genealogy society business.

The meetings are open to the public, and attendance is free of charge.

Following is a list of programs for the 2011-2012 Midland Genealogical Society meetings:

  • November 16, 2011 7:00 pm Library Lounge "Native American Research Case Study" by Quita Shier.

  • January 18, 2012 7:00 pm Library Lounge "Mission Accomplished: The Collaboration between Grace Dow, Midland's Memorial Presbyterian Church, and the Philippine Mission of Bob and Metta Silliman" by Tawny Ryan Nelb.
  • February 15, 2012 7:00 pm Library Lounge "Michigan Troops in Gettysburg" by Wilma Diesen
  • March 21, 2012 7:00 pm Library Lounge "49ers Round the Horn - Life of the Gold Rush Miners and their trip around Cape Horn" by Ruth Ann Casadonte
  • April 18, 2012 7:00 pm Library Lounge "Ephraim William, A Midland Fur Trader - A First Person presentation" by Kyle Bagnall
  • May 16, 2012 6:00 pm "My Family Secret: An exploration of Genealogical Surprises" by Nancy James. This is also our Annual Meeting and Potluck to be held at the Carriage House on Cook Road.
