This century-old building, now undergoing renovations (early 2012) once was a hotel catering to arriving and departing passengers from the nearby Michigan Central railway station.  According to legend, the hotel boasted of Michigan’s first elevator.  It is currently a residence for homeless and chronically mentally ill  adults.
