Cecelia (Booms) Terbrack

February 26, 1901March 7, 1986

 

Cecelia Terbrack, 85, Ruth, died March 7 at Autumnwood, Deckerville, after a short illness.

She was born February 26, 1901 in Sand Beach Township, daughter of the late Joseph and Matilda (Wolschleger) Booms.  She married John Terbrack at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Helena, February 26, 1919.  He preceded her in death December 16, 1954.  She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Ruth, since 1919 and a member of the Arch confraternity of Christian Mothers of Ruth.

 

Surviving are eight daughters:  Mrs. Arthur (Evelyn) Learman, Harbor Beach; Mrs. Frank (Jeanette) Seidl, Ferndale; Mrs. Arthur (Rita) Glaza, Minden City; Mrs. Norman (Beatrice) Glaza, Hazel Park; Mrs. Bill (Matilda) Johnson, Gaylord; Mrs. Jerome (Adalaide) Block, Ruth; Mrs. Kenneth (Alice) Sadro, Bad Axe; and Mrs. Richard (Rosalia) Holdwick, Bad Axe, four sons: Marvin Terbrack Harbor Beach; Clarence Terbrack, Troy; John Terbrack, Southgate; and Donald Terbrack, Ruth.  78 grandchildren, 98 great-grandchildren, one brother, Allen Booms, Harbor Beach and four sisters, Helen Schultz, Harbor Beach Mary Kramer, Ruth, Frances Booms, Pigeon and Mrs. Elmer (Florence) Ramisch, Minden City.  She was preceded in death by four children, Herbert Terbrack, Herman Terbrack, Marius Terbrack and Gerald Terbrack and three grandchildren.

 

Services were 11 a.m. Monday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ruth.  The Rev. Loren Kalinowski, pastor officiated.  Burial was in the church cemetery.

Herbert A. Terbrack Sr.

November 13, 1919March 29, 1974

 

TERBRACK, Herbert A. Sr. 6409 Karen Dr., age 54, died Friday, March 29, 1974, at Hurley Hospital.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Agnes Catholic Church, 500 W. Pierson, Rd., Rev. Fr. Steven F. Nakranyi officiating.  Burial in New Calvary Cemetery.  Mr. Terbrack will lie is state at the Reigle Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4305 Clio Rd., were Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday.  Mr. Terbrack was born in Michigan, November 13, 1919.  He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, was a Veteran of World War II, formerly the manager of the Bad Axe Grain Company and Wruble Grain Company, Ubly, and was presently supervisor of maintenance at Beechwood MediCenter.  Surviving are Wife, Rebecca, 2 sons, Herbert A. Jr. of Lansing and Michael A. at home; mother, Mrs. Cecelia Terbrack of Ruth, Michigan 4 brothers Donald of Ruth, Clarence of Detroit, Marvin of Harbor Beach and John of Dearborn; 8 sisters, Mrs. Rita Glaza of Minden City, Mrs. Evelyn Learman and Mrs. Rosalee Holdwick, both of Harbor Beach, Mrs. Alice Sadro of Bad Axe, Mrs. Adeline Block of Ruth, Mrs. Jeannette Siedel, and Mrs. Beatrice Glaza, both of Detroit and Mrs. Matilda Johnson of Gladwin; several nieces and nephews.                                                                                                                                                                                         

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rebecca (Janette) (Franks) Terbrack Hebert

July 28, 1927July 7, 1999

 

HEBERT, Rebecca (Terbrack) Age 71, of Lake MI died Wednesday July 7, 1999 at Genesys Hospice in Goodrich.  Mrs. Hebert was born July 28, 1927 in Cruthersville, Mississippi, the daughter of William and Lela Franks.  Rebecca lived in Huron Co. from 1946 to 1970, Flint from 1970 to 1991 and Lake from 1991 to the present.  She was a member of D.A.V.A. Chapter 105 of lake, MI and was a Ham Radio Operator N8TWZ.  Rebecca worked as a Bookkeeper for Wrubel Twin Elevator and as a Nurses Aide at St. Joseph Hospital.  Rebecca Terbrack married Russell Hebert in 1989 and he survives her; also surviving are sons, Hebert A. and Judith Terbrack of Lansing, Michael J. and Cheryl Terbrack of Davison; grandson, Patrick Matthew; granddaughters Cara, Kelly, Kristen; great-granddaughter Elle, sister Dorothy Stockton of St. Louis, MO; many nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Hebert was preceded in death by her first husband Herbert Terbrack, March 19, 1974.  Friends may visit the family at the Sunset Chapel of Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Rd. from 2-9PM this evening.  The Rosary will be prayed 7PM this evening.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10AM Saturday, July 10, 1999 at All Saints Catholic Church, Fr. Anthony Majchrowski officiating with cremation to follow.  Memorial contributions may be made to Genesys Hospice in Goodrich of the American Cancer Society.

 

 

 

 

Matilda Laura (Terbrack) Johnson

June 5, 1931September 17, 1996

 

Matilda (Terbrack) Johnson, 65, of Detroit, passed away September 17, 1996, in Cheyenne, Wyo.  She was born June 5, 1931, in Ruth, daughter of the late John and Cecelia (Booms) Terbrack.  On October 30, 1950, she was united in marriage to Bill Johnson at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth.

 

Surviving are her husband, Bill; four daughters, Belinda, Pam, Rebecca, Regina; seven sons, Chuck, Dennis, Stephen, Sam, Johathan, Simon and Matthew; 38 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Evelyn Learman, Jeanetta Seidl, Rita Glaza, Beatrice Glaze, Adelaide Block, Alice Sadro, Rosalia Holdwick; four brothers, Marvin, Clarence, John and Donald Terbrack.

 

Funeral services were held September 21 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Cheyenne, Wyo.  A memorial service will be 1 pm. Saturday at our Lady of Loretta Catholic Church at 6 Mile Road and Beech Daly, Detroit.

 

 

 

Steven G. Block

March 11, 1962 - December 8, 1964

Steve G. Block, two-year-old son or Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Block, Ruth, died at Henry Ford hospital in Detroit Tuesday following heart surgery.  He was born March 11, 1962 in Sandusky.

 

Survivors are his parents, one brother, Richard, and three sisters, Carol, Diane and Elaine, all of Ruth (missing line that I cannot make out) maternal grandmother, Mrs. Cecelia Terbrack, Ruth and great grandfather, Anthony Sadro, Minden City. 

 

Mass of the Angels was solemnized at 9:30 Saturday at  SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.  Rt. Rev. Monsignor Frank Kaufman (the rest of the obituary is cut off)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Robert Zurek

Robert Zurek, 79, of Bad Axe passed away on Monday March 26, 2007 at this home.  He was born February 19, 1928 in Detroit, son of the late Boniface and Phoebe (Lorkowski) Zurek.  He married Jardine Depcinski on April 16, 1971.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
 
He is survived by his wife, Jardine Zurek of Bad Axe; one son, Robin (Carol) Zurek of Bad Axe; one step-son, David (Sherry) Mitchell of Ubly; two step-daughters, Paula Mitchell of Bad Axe, Julie (Mike) Sutherland of Bad Axe; one brother, Melvin (Jean) Zurek of Harbor Beach; four sisters, Evelyn Kubacki of Ubly, Phyllis (Marvin) Kociba of Harbor Beach, Anna Mae (Gerald) Learman of Filion, Margaret (Jim) Ritter of Bad Axe; six grandchildren, Robert (Donna) Mitchell, Alaine Mitchell, Tonia (Chuck) Mosack, Tammy (Corey) Kalo, Adam Sutherland and Amy Sutherland, two great-granddaughters, Megan and Madison Mellendorf.  He was preceded in death of one sister, Jeannette Guza.
 
 Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. pm Thursday March 29, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe.  Officiating will be Fr. James Carlson, pastor.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
 
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe.  A scripture service will be offered at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Norman Osentoski
October 31, 1929 – January 21-2008

Mr. Norman Osentoski, 78, of Sterling Heights died Monday evening, January 21, 2008 at Troy Beaumont Hospital after a short illness.  Mr. Osentoski was born on October 31, 1929 in Detroit, Son of the late Casimer and Irene (Glaza) Osentoski.  He married Irene Leavine on June 6, 1953 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Port Austin.  Norman was a graduate of Cumber Country School.  He worked at Chrysler Motors Dodge Main Plant from October 1946 until 1951.  Mr. Osentoski served in the U.S. Army from 1951 until 1953 during the Korean War.  Once discharged, he continued to work at Chyrsler until 1991.  Norman was a parishioner of St. Blasé Catholic Church in Sterling Heights since 1968 where he was an usher.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and made fishing lures and sinkers.

 

Norman is survived by his wife Irene of Sterling Heights, five children, Linda Parks and her husband, Paul, of Almont, Gary Osentoski and his wife, Carol, of Dryden, Nancy Osentoski of Almont, Arthur Osentoski and his wife Susan of Hadley, Kevin Osentoski and his wife, Lia, of Macomb Township; eight grandchildren, April Schmidt and her husband, Jason, John Osentoski, Crystal Moore and her husband, Tony, Joseph and Christopher Osentoski, Olivia Osentoski, Scott Parks and his wife, Stephanie, Shannon Parks; two great-grandchildren, Brooks Parks and Kaitlynn Schmidt; one brother, Kenneth Osentoski and his wife, Sue, of Otisville; one sister, Marlene Peters of Lake Orion.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Melvin Osentoski.

 

Funeral Mass for Norman Osentoski will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 25, 2008 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church of Sheridan Corners.  The Rev. James Carlson, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe will officiate.  Burial will be in St. John Cemetery in Ubly with military honors.  Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly.

Irvin J. Romzek

September 6, 1926November 9, 2007

 

Irvin J. “Irv” Romzek, founder of the Romzek Farm and Town Insurance Agency in Bad Axe, 81, of Ruth passed away Friday morning, November 9, 2007 at the Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe.  Irvin was born on September 6, 1926 in Sigel Township to the late George and Cecilia (Richard) Romzek.  He married Ernestine Smaglinski on June 14, 1947 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. 

 

Irvin was a graduate of the Sigel Country School and Our Lady of Lake Huron.  He attended Michigan Tech University through the Army Air Corp program.  He served in World War II in the European Theatre.  Irvin was a dairy farmer from 1947 to 1958.  In 1959 Irvin started the Romzek Farm and Town Insurance Agency of Bad Axe, retiring in 1991 after 32 years.  He was a member of the Huron County Independent Insurance Association. 

Irvin was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville where he was a member of the parish council, the men’s club, a lector and a member of the new church building committee.  He established the physical education program at St. Mary’s Catholic School and was a coach for many years.  Irvin was a member of the Ruth Knights of Columbus Council 3823 and the Parisville VFW Post No. 5740.  He was a 4-H leader for the St. Isadore 4-H Club.  Irvin enjoyed farming, the woods, playing cards, fishing, gardening, hunting, playing the harmonica and accordion, and visiting with family and friends.

 

Irvin is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ernestine of Ruth; six sons, Arthur (Marlene) Romzek of Tawas City, Daniel (Susan) Romzek of Ruth, Michael (Margaret) Romzek of Bad Axe, Isadore (Marian) Romzek of Ubly; one daughter Marie (Paul) Heilig of Minder City; 22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Eugene (Evelyn) Romzek of Ubly, George (Charlotte) Romzek of Sandusky, David (Gerri) Romzek of  Traverse City; four sisters, Mary Knoll of Caro, Agnes (William) Hool of Lupton, Juliann Steele of Warren, Dorothy (David) Rinke of Capac; three sisters-in-law, Susan Romzek of Anchorage, Alaska, Edna Lackowski of Bad Axe, Theresa McElgunn and her husband, Robert of Emmett; one brother-in-law, Bernard Smaglinski and his wife Susan or Harbor Beach.  Irvin was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Benedict Romzek; one sister, Irene Shevokas.

 

Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. today , November 12, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville.  The Rev. Jerzy Dobosz, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors by the Parisville VFW Post No. 5740.  Memorials are requested to the Family Discretionary Fund of the Donor’s Choice.

Ella Mae (Zmich) Osantowski

Mrs. Ella Mae Osantowski, 80, of Detroit and formerly of Ubly, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren.  Ella Mae was born on February 12, 1927 in Ubly.

 

Ella Mae is survived by her husband of 57 years, Peter; children, Larry (Kathy) Osantowski, Patricia (Joseph) Marino, Eugene (June) Osantowski, Marvin (Jan) Osantowski, Rick (Patti) Osantowski, David Osantowski, Elizabeth (Ray) Malerba, Susie (David) Gajewski and Kimberly Osantowski.  She is also survived by many grandchildren; and great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ignatz Zmich and Suzie and Ignatz Glaza; her first husband, Robert Osantowski; and sons, Leonard, Archie and Wayne Osantowski.

 

Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Saturday October 6, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville.  The Rev. Jerry Dobosz, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. tofay with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 11470 Thirteen Mile Road, west of Hoover, Warren and from noon until 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.  Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.wasikfuneralhome.com.
