Mary F. Terbrack dies at age 85.  Funeral services were conducted Monday morning for Mary F. Terbrack, 85, of Ruth, who died Friday at Lahser Hills Nursing Home, Southfield, after a long illness.  She was born July 6, 1897 in Sherman Township, the daughter of George and Mary (Lautner) Artman.  Mary Artman and Frederick Terbrack were married November 22, 1922, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ruth.  He preceded her in death July 24, 1959.  She was a parishioner at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ruth, and a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers of the church.

 

Surviving are several sons and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Terbrack, Ruth, Harold Terbrack, Berkley, Nicholas Terbrack, Royal Oak, Joseph Terbrack, Minden City, Elmer Terbrack, Grand Rapids, Mrs. Andrew

(Marie) Seidl, Huntington Woods, Mrs. LaVerne (Lucille) Booms, Berkley, and Mrs. Donald (Elaine) Bismack,

Berkley; 35 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, 7; one brother, the Rev. George Artman, Edenville, and two sisters, Mrs. James (Theresa) Cleland, Royal Oak, and Mrs. Elmer (Margaret) Oswald, Royal Oak.  One daughter, Doris, two brothers, Phillip Artman and Joseph Artman, and two sisters, Anne Essenmacher and Frances Sheller preceded her in death.

 

Services were held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ruth. Rev. Loren Kalinowski, pastor, and Rev. George Artman officiated.  Burial was in the church cemetery.  Arrangements were by Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home, Ubly.

Marvin Terbrack
December 20, 1923December 26, 2000
Marvin Terbrack, 77, of Harbor Beach passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center in Saginaw following a short illness.  Born in Ruth, on December. 20, 1923, he was the son of the late John and Cecilia (Booms) Terbrack.  He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in Germany.  He and Jean Reid were married on February 13, 1965, in Harbor Beach.  Marvin was a retired employee of the Booms Silo Co., working for 35 years and retiring in 1984.  He was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach and the VFW Post in Harbor Beach.  
 
Surviving are his wife, Jean Terbrack of Harbor Beach; three brothers, Clarence Terbrack and his wife, Delores, of Ruth, John Terbrack of Southgate and Donald Terbrack and his wife, Nancy, of Harbor Beach; six sisters, Evelyn Learman of Harbor Beach, Rita Glaza and her husband, Art, of Ruth, Beatrice Glaza and her husband, Norman, of Hazel Park, Adeline Block and her husband, Jerome, of Ruth, Alice Sadro and her husband, Ken, of Bad Axe and Rosalia Holdwick and her husband, Richard, of Bad Axe; and two brothers-in-law, Frank Sieldlof Ferndale and Bill Johnson of Detroit.  He was preceded in death by four brothers, Herbert, Herman, Gerald and Marius Terbrack; and two sisters, Matilda Johnson and Jeanetta Seidl.  
 
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2000, at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach with Fr. Gerald Kukla, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.  A parish vigil service will take place at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Ramsey Funeral Home in Harbor Beach.  Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. this evening, from 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Jean Margaret (Reid) Terbrack
July 15, 1933 – May 10, 2002
Jean M. Terbrack, 68, of Harbor Beach, passed away Friday morning, May 10, 2002, at Covenant-Cooper Hospital in Saginaw following a short illness.  Born in Ferndale on July 15, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Whitlow and Margaret (O'Neil) Reid.   Jean and Marvin Terbrack were united in marriage on February 13, 1965 in Harbor Beach. Marvin preceded her in death on December 26, 2000.  She was a member of the Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach and the Altar Society and the Legion of Mary.  
 
Jean is survived by two brothers, Louis Reid of Harbor Beach and Joseph Reid of Norfolk, Virginia.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Moeller, and a brother, Jim Reid.  
 
A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2002 in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, Harbor Beach, with burial in the church cemetery.  A parish vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Ramsey Funeral Home where visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, and 10-11 a.m. Monday.

John (Jack) Christian Terbrack Jr.
January 30, 1912 – May 31, 1999
KINGSLAND, TEXAS - John Christian “Jack”' Terbrack Jr., 87, died Monday, May 31, 1999, in Kingsland.
Service will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel with graveside service at 1:45 p.m. in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
He was born January 30, 1912, in New Orleans.  An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was a dispatcher for AAA and a newspaper distributor.
Survivors include a son, John C. Terbrack III of New Orleans, Louisiana; a daughter, Trudy T. DeCuir of Sunrise Beach, Texas; and a granddaughter.

Edward John Terbrack

January 11, 1965December 10, 2009

Mr.  Edward J.  Terbrack, 44, of Grand Rapids, passed away December  10, 2009 in Grand Rapids.   He was born January 11, 1965 in Harbor Beach to Donald and Nancy (Koss) Terbrack.   Edward was an eighth-grade graduate of Ss.  Peter & Paul Catholic School and was an early graduate from Ubly High School in 1983.   He then joined the U.S.  Army and served three years, mostly in Germany.   When he returned to Huron County, he found work in Ubly where he was employed until 2006.   He then became ill at that time and moved to the VA home in Grand Rapids for a short period of time.


He is survived by one son, Jeremy Terbrack of Harbor Beach; his parents, Donald and Nancy Terbrack of Harbor Beach; two brothers and two sisters, Kenneth Terbrack and his partner, Anthony Amaya, of Ferndale; Dorothy Messing and her husband, Chris, of Minden City; Ann Terbrack of Emmett; Bill Terbrack and his wife, Kay, of Ruth; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Koss of Harbor Beach; several nieces and nephews, and many aunts and uncles.   He was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Dekoski; his grandparents, Arthur Koss, John and Cecilia Terbrack.


Memorial Mass will be at
11 a.m.  Wednesday, January  6, 2010 at Ss.  Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth.  The Rev.  Donald Eppenbrock will officiate.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.   Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m.  Wednesday at Ss.  Peter & Paul Church in Ruth.

Marguerite (Peggy) Ellen (Krellwitz) Terbrack    

June 14, 1930 - August 21, 2009

Terbrack, Peggy (Marguerite), Age 79, of Berkley, passed away on August 21, 2009.   Beloved wife of the late Harold.   Dearest mother of Michael, Bev (Gary) Koesters, Carol (the late Mike) Grouzard, David (Angie), Roy (Fran), Janet (George) Lyons, Glen and Martin (Cathy) Terbrack.   Peggy was preceded in death by a baby son, Fred, in 1964.   Proud grandmother of Krissy, Teresa, Melissa, Mike, Brian, Kristi, Dan, Bobby, Katie, Jamie, Charlotte, Nick, Jenny, Betsy, Molly, Hannah, Joseph, Clare, Brandon, Larry and Anthony.   Worlds best great grandma to Logan, Griffin, Kaylee and Addison.   Dear sister of Dick and Bob Krellwitz and the late Nancy Rentfrow.   Peggy and Harold were married in 1951 in Detroit and so enjoyed raising their own children that they then decided in 1973 that they still had enough love in their hearts to become foster parents.   In the last 35 years, Peggy has become Grandma to over 150 foster children, many of whom still stopped by to see her frequently.   Some of her happiest times were spent at her beloved cottage in Beaverton with as many people as she could fill it with!  A child never passed her by that did not make her smile or that she could not make smile in return.   She was a caring and generous friend to everyone she met and the many people whose lives she touched are much better for having known her.

Clarence Vincent Terbrack

April 5, 1934 - June 24, 2008 

Mr.  Clarence V.  Terbrack, 74, of Ruth, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at the Harbor Beach Community Hospital after a short illness.   Clarence was born on April 5, 1934 in Ruth to the late John and Cecilia (Booms) Terbrack.   He married Delores Gentner on April 19, 1955 at SS.  Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth.   Clarence was an eighth-grade graduate of SS.  Peter & Paul Catholic School in Ruth.   He worked for Booms Silo’s for a few years.   He then worked as a leader for Malloy (Masco) Manufacturing in Fraser for 40 years before he retired in 1995.   Clarence and Delores then moved to Ruth in 1996.   He was a parishioner at SS.  Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth.   Clarence enjoyed raising poultry, gardening, playing cards, bingo, casinos and visiting with his family, grandchildren and friends.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m.  Friday, June 27, 2008 at SS.Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth.  The Rev.  Robert Paré, pastor, will officiate.   Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1:30 to 9 p.m.  on Thursday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at SS. Peter & Paul Church.   There will be of Daughters of Isabella rosary at 3 p.m.  on Thursday and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m.  Both services will be at the funeral home.

Leona Marie Terbrack

January 19, 1915 - March 10, 2004

Mrs.  Leona Marie Terbrack, 89, of Ruth passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.  Leona was born January 19, 1915, to the late Frederick and Ida (Wolschleger) Terbrack.  She married Arnold Terbrack on January  20, 1940, at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach.  He preceded her in death on August  6, 1989.  Leona was a graduate of a country school.  She did domestic work and cooked at SS.  Peter and Paul School for 20 years.  She worked at Hamil Manufacturing in Bad Axe for 10 years before she retired in 1985.  She was a life long parishioner at SS.  Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth and a member of SS.  Peter and Paul Christian Mothers.  She enjoyed gardening and has walked the Mackinaw Bridge for 20 years. 


Leona is survived by one daughter, Ida Mae Messing and her husband, Richard, of Ruth; two sons, Aubrey Terbrack and his wife, Donna, of Troy, Darrell Terbrack and his wife, Sandra, of Saginaw; six grandchildren, Marshall Messing, Lisa Braun and her husband, Rod, Nicole McCormick and her husband, Bryan, James Terbrack, Brett Terbrack and his wife, Tara, Lindsey Terbrack; one great-grandson, Justin McCormick; three sisters, Marie Seidl and her husband, Andrew, of Huntington Woods, Lucille Booms and her husband, LaVern, of Edenville, Elaine Bismack of Berkley; two brothers, Nicholas Terbrack and his wife, Julia, of Royal Oak, Elmer Terbrack and his wife, Dianne, of Grand Rapids.  She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Joseph, and baby James Terbrack; and one sister, baby Doris Terbrack. 


Funeral mass will be
11 a.m.  Friday, March 12, 2004, at SS.  Peter and Pal Catholic Church of Ruth.  The Rev.  Steven Gavit, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring.  There will be a parish vigil service at 5 p.m.  and a rosary by the SS.  Peter and Paul Christian Mothers at 7:30 p.m.  today.  Both services will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly.  Visitation will be from 1:30 to 9:30 p.m.  today and from 9 to 10 a.m.  on Friday at the funeral home.  Memorials requested to the SS.  Peter and Paul Church.

Phoebe C. (Spitza) Terbrack 
April 30, 1906 - April 29, 2001
Phoebe C.  Terbrack, 95, of Frederic and formerly of Harbor Beach, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2001, in Mercy Hospital in Grayling following a short illness.   Born in Saskatchewan, Canada, on April 30, 1906, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Delaney) Spitza.   She and Mike Kramer were married in August 1924 in Harbor Beach, and he preceded her in death in May 1950.   Phoebe then married Lawrence Terbrack in May of 1957, and he preceded her in death in August of 1986.   Phoebe was a former employee of the Huron Laundry Cleaners, working there for more than 30 years, and she helped her husband farm.   She enjoyed gardening, sewing and playing cards.   Phoebe was a member of SS.  Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth.   
 
She is survived by a daughter, Johanna Page and her husband, Clarence, of Frederic; a son, Sebastian Kramer of Titusville, Florida.; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Bill Spitza of Ann Arbor and James Spitza and his wife, Maxine, of Bellaire; two sisters: Rose Kresic of Gaylord and Mary Matusik of Flint; a daughter-in-law, Bertha Kramer of St.  George, Georgia.; a son-in-law, Charles Piper.   Phoebe was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosemary Piper; a son, Fred Kramer; and a grandson, John Piper; two sisters, Francis and Annie Spitza; three brothers, John, Frank and Ed Spitza; and a daughter-in-law, Jessie Kramer.   
 
Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m.  on Wednesday, May 2, 2001, in SS.  Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth with Fr.  Steve Gavit, pastor officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Lavern G. Terbrack

December 13, 1913July 15, 1991

Lavern G. Terbrack, 77, Minden City, died Monday, July 15, at Huron Memorial Hospital in Bad Axe after a short illness.  He was born December 13, 1913, in Harbor Beach, son of Henry and Christine (Wolschlager) Terbrack.  He married Sylvia Kosal November 15, 1941, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Ruth.  She preceded him in death March 9, 1977.  Mr. Terbrack attended elementary school in Ruth.  He farmed in Huron and Sanilac counties and was a lifelong parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. 

 

Surviving are 2 daughters, Donna (Richard) Goniwicha, Harbor Beach, and Evelyn (Alan) Witkovsky, Cass City; 4 grandchildren; one great-grandson, and one sister, Genevieve (Gordon) Innes; Snover.  He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Lawrence Terbrack and James Terbrack.

 

A parish wake service was held Thursday evening at the Smigielski Funeral Home, Minden City, and funeral services were held Friday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ruth. The Rev. Richard Bokinskie, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
