Elaine F. (Wruble) Oparka 
 May 19, 1933 - July 2, 2002
Elaine F.  Oparka, 69, of Harbor Beach passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at HealthSource of Saginaw.   Born in Harbor Beach on May 19, 1933, she was the daughter of the late George and Cecilia (Moy) Wruble.   She and Alfred Oparka were united in marriage on February 7, 1959 in Harbor Beach.   Alfred preceded her in death on April 3, 1986.   Elaine was a former employee of Sandman Grocery for more than 20 years.   She enjoyed being with her granddaughters and watching them play in various sporting events.   Elaine was an avid Pirate fan.   She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach.   
 
Elaine is survived by her children, Tom Oparka and his wife, Cindy of Harbor Beach; Dave Oparka of Lapeer and Cathy Cook and her husband, Larry, of Harbor Beach; five granddaughters: Angie Nowiski, Erica Oparka, Abbie Oparka, Kristi Cook and Alyson Cook; one brother: Larry Wruble of Sterling Heights; and a foster son, Charles Wruble.   She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Clarence Wruble.   
 
A funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m.  Friday, July 5, 2002, at Our Lady of Lake Huron Church with the Rev.  Gerald Kukla officiating.   Burial will be in the church cemetery.   A parish vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m.  Thursday in the Ramsey Funeral Home in Harbor Beach.   Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m.  and 7 to 9 p.m.  Thursday and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.  Friday at the funeral home.

Frank Particka

Particka rites Wednesday

Frank Particka, 93, of Ubly, died Sunday at Harbor Beach Hospital Long Term Care Facility after a long illness.

He was born May 10, 1889, in Parisville, the son of Alexander and Caroline (Borowiec) Partyka.  Particka and Anna Goniwiecha were married November 11, 1908, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parisville.  She preceded him in death December 12, 1965.  The couple lived in Detroit and Rapson before moving to Ubly in 1950 and farmed in the Rapson area until his retirement.

 

Surviving are three sons, Alex Particka, Floyd Particka and Frank Particka Jr., all of Ubly; 23 grandchildren;

31 great-grandchildren; two great-greatgrandchildren, and two stepbrothers, Roman Smith, Minden City, and Peter Smith, Gaylord.  Two sons, Aloysius Particka and Anthony Particka, two brothers and two stepsisters

preceded him in death.

 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Catholic Church, Ubly.  Rev. Julius Spleet officiating.   Burial will be in the church cemetery.  A wake service was conducted Monday evening by Father Spleet at Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home, Ubly .

Mr.  Edmund F. Peplinski, 86, of Ruth died Monday, December 13, 1999, at his residence.  He was born on January 14, 1913, in Parisville, the son of the late Joseph and Lucy (Woyciechowski) Peplinski.   He married Leona O'Parka on February 11, 1939, at St.  Mary's Catholic Church in Parisville.   
 
He is survived by his wife, Leona, of Ruth; one son, Virgil Peplinski and his wife, Delphine, of Ruth; six daughters, Marie Bartarian and her husband, Walter "Marvin," of Vanderbelt, Janet Idyle and her husband, Edward, of Gaylord, Doris Stimpfel and her husband, Thomas, of Cass City, Shirley Brownson and her special friend, Tom, of Otisville, Sharon Fisher and her husband, Barry, of Gaylord and Karen Maurer and her husband, Leonard, of Lake Worth, Florida; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Frank Peplinski of Filion, Archie Peplinski and his wife, Regina, of Ruth and Ernest Peplinski and his wife, Lorraine, of South Lyons; seven sisters, Bertha Vincent of Rochester Hills, Mary Maraj of Scottsdale, Arizona  Emilie Kopinski of Rochester Hills, Irene Zalewski of Novi, Selma Danielski and her husband, Ray, of Ruth, Alma Osentoski and her husband, Ben, of Garden City and Elsie Peruski of South Lyons.   He was preceded in death by his brother, Elmer Peplinski; son-in-law, Philip Brownson and grandson, Michael Smeader.   
 
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 17, 1999, at St.  Mary's Catholic Church in Parisville.  The Rev. Charles Hammond, pastor, will officiate.  A parish wake service will be conducted at 8 tonight and a rosary by the St.  Mary's Men's Club at 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Frank A.  Peplinski 
November 29, 1907 - January 31, 2001
Mr.  Frank A.  Peplinski, 93, of Paris Township passed away Wednesday evening, January 31, 2001, at Courtney Manor of Bad Axe.   He was born on November 29, 1907, in Parisville to the late Joseph and Lucy (Woyciechowski) Peplinski.   He married Jean Montgomery Crudo in 1958 in Detroit.   She preceded him in death in 1977.  He attended Paris No.  1 Country School.  He worked for 30 years at Budd Manufacturing in Detroit before retiring in 1969.  He then moved to Phoenix, Arizona, area where he lived for 10 years before returning to Paris Township in 1978.  He was a parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville.  He enjoyed hunting and euchre.    
 
He is survived by one step-daughter,  Lucille Prysok, of Southfield; one step-son, Raymond Crudo of Washington state; two brothers: Archie Peplinski and his wife, Regina, of Ruth; and Ernest Peplinski and his wife, Lorraine, of South Lyons; seven sisters: Bertha Vincent of Rochester Hills; Mary Maraj of Scottsdale, Arizona; Emilie Kopinski of Rochester Hills; Irene Zalewski of Northville; Selma Danielski of Ruth; Alma Osentoski and her husband, Ben, of Garden City; and Elsie Peruski of South Lyons; one sister-in-law: Leona Peplinski of Ruth; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edmund and Elmer Peplinski.    
 

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2001, at St. Mary Catholic Church of Parisville.  Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring.  There will be a parish wake service at 8 p.m. today by Fr.  Charles Hammond at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly.  Visitation will be from 1:30 to 9:30 p.m. today and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Daniel R. Peruski

April 18, 1918July 22, 1991

Daniel R. Peruski, 73, Westland, died Monday, July 22, at Advance Nursing Home, Inkster, after a long illness.  He was born April 18, 1918, in Paris Township, son of John D. and Josephine (Eman) Peruski.  He married Alma Alent June 20, 1939, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parisville.  She preceded him in death July 11, 1985.  Mr. Peruski was a graduate of St. Mary’s Elementary School, Parisville.  He was the owner of Oak Grove Tavern, Flat Rock, from 1946-49.  From 1949-64 he worked for Champion Spark Plug.  He then worked for General Motors at the Detroit Diesel Plant, Romulus, until 1975.  He lived in Paris Township until 1945.  He was a member of Bishop Murphy Council, Knights of Columbus 3257, Warren.  He also was a parishioner of St. Simon and St Jude Catholic Church, Westland. 

 

Surviving are 2 sons, John “Don” Peruski (Diane), Utica, and Vern (Sandy) Peruski, Westland; one daughter, Debrah (Michael) Marden, Highland; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Bertha Dropeski, Ruth, and Rose (Irvin) Jaskowski, Minden City.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Buzelli; 2 brothers, Sylvester Peruski and John Peruski; 2 sisters, Lucy Smalley and Mayme Roggenbuck; 2 stepbrothers, Adam Peruski and Casimer Peruski, and one stepsister, Josephine Smalley.

 

A parish scripture service was held Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.  Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parisville. The Rev. Ronald Dombrowski, pastor, officiated.  Burial was in the church cemetery.  Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home, Ubly, handled the arrangements.

Frank A. Peyerk Jr. 
January 2, 1918October 8, 2004

Frank A. Peyerk, Jr., 86, of Filion, died Friday, October 8, 2004, at Courtney Manor Nursing Home in Bad Axe after an extended illness.   Frank's goals and achievements in life were to instill values of honesty and the willingness to help others and faithfulness to God.  He was greatly respected and loved by his children, grandchildren, and friends.   Frank was born January 2, 1918 in Harbor Beach to the late Frank and Mary (Klama) Peyerk, Sr. He married Genevieve Sobieray on September 28, 1940 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rapson.   Frank was a graduate of the country school system and farmed with his family and on his own until 1979.  He was a life-long parishioner of St. Joseph Parish in Rapson, worked construction for many years, and was a member of the Laborers Union #1098 of Saginaw.  He enjoyed euchre, fishing, and deer hunting.  Frank liked traveling with his wife and visiting and inspiring his grandchildren and great-grandchildren with his values.  

 

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Genevieve "Gennie," of Filion; three daughters, Mrs. Pauline "Paula" Gucwa and her husband, Joseph, of Lapeer, Mrs. Carolyn Talaski and her husband, Duane, of Port Austin, and Shelley Richards, of Palm Harbor, Florida; and three sons, Kenneth Peyerk and his wife, Gwen, of Ortonville; Larry Peyerk and his wife, Melinda, of Port Huron, and Ron Peyerk and his wife, Cheri, of Bad Axe; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Leona Lemanski, of Harbor Beach.   Frank was preceded in death by five brothers, Ray, Tony, Ed, Joe, Julius; three sisters: Theresa Weymouth, Anna Wruble and Stacy Goniwicha; and one brother-in-law: Fabian Lemanski. 

 

A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rapson. Fr. James Carlson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.   Visitation will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Sunday and from 2 to 9 p.m. on Monday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly and from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rapson.  A parish vigil service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday by Fr. Carlson and a rosary will be led by the St. Rita Altar Society at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Archie A. Pionk

Archie A. Pionk, 74, of Ubly, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2005, at his residence under hospice care.  He was born September 8, 1930 in Smith Corners to the late John and Frances (Gosdzinski) Pionk.  He married Marie Evelyn Shemka on May 1, 1954 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville.   Archie attended the Kelly Country School.  In his younger days, he was an accomplished baseball/softball player.  He was a drummer for 20 years with the band "The Polka Chips".  He retired in 1997 after 43 years as a machine repairman for Active Industries.  He was a parishioner at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly for 45 years.  Archie enjoyed woodworking, rug weaving, gardening, and playing his accordion for his family.  He also was an avid hunter.   
 
Archie is survived by his wife, Marie, of Ubly; two sons, Marvin Pionk and his wife, Barbara, of Bad Axe, Michael Pionk and his wife, Donna, of Hermitage, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Matthew and Kimberly Pionk, of Bad Axe, Hayley, Luke, and Julia Pionk, of Hermitage, Tennessee; two sisters, Susie Peruski and Rose Lemanski, both of Bad Axe; one brother, James Pionk, of Bad Axe; three sisters-in-law, Beatrice Osantoski and her husband, Martin, of Bad Axe, Louise Pionk, of Ubly, Jeanette Lemanski, of Madison Heights; and one brother-in-law, LaVerne Shemka and his wife, Mary, of Port Hope.  Archie was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucy Osentoski, Anna Susalla, and Selma Grifka; and six brothers, Stanley, Sylvester, John, Clarence, Elmer, and Ignatz Pionk.    
 
A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2005, at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. The Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring.   Visitation will be from 1:30 to 9 p.m. today at Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly, from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church only. There will be a parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.   Memorials are requested to Heartland Hospice.

Elmer A. Pionk

Mr.  Elmer A.  Pionk, 70, of Ubly, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2003 at Huron Medical Center of Bad Axe.   Elmer was born February 3, 1932 in Ubly to the late John and Frances (Gosdzinski) Pionk.  He married Louise Klama on June 9, 1956 at St.  Mary Catholic Church in Parisville.  Elmer attended the Kelly School.  He farmed and did haying with the Stomack Farms.  He worked for Active Industries, Lasky Construction, and Michigan Peat.  He was a lifelong member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Smith Corners.  He enjoyed Tiger baseball games, playing softball and umpiring at Smith Corners.  He also enjoyed playing his harmonica and square-dancing.    
 
Elmer is survived by his wife, Louise, of Ubly; one daughter, Mrs. Doreen Smith and her husband, Craig, of Bad Axe; four sons, Jerome Pionk and his wife, Darlene, of Ubly, George Pionk of Ubly, Alfred Pionk and his wife, Pamela, of Ruth, and Lawrence Pionk of Ubly; 10 grandchildren, Jeanne and Shannon Smith, Nicole, Chelsey, Samantha, Alexis, Taylor, Danielle, 
Brianna, and Lacey Pionk; two sisters, Susie Peruski of Bad Axe, and Rose Lemanski of Pontiac; two brothers, Archie Pionk and his wife, Marie, of Ubly, and James Pionk of Bad Axe; one sister-in-law, Beatrice Osantoski and her husband, Martin, of Bad Axe.    Elmer was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucy Osentoski, Anna Susalla, and Selma Grifka; five brothers, Clarence, John, Enoch, Sylvester, and Stanley Pionk.

John Pionk

July 12, 1924 - April 20, 1988

John Pionk, 63, Paris Township, died Wednesday, April 20, 1988 at Huron Memorial Hospital, Bad Axe,  after an apparent heart attack.  He was born July 12, 1924, in Bingham Township, son of John and Frances (Gosdzinski) Pionk.   He married Beatrice Klama January 31, 1953, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parisville.  Mr. Pionk attended Kellj Rural School and farmed for many years in Huron County. He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for 35 years.

 

Surviving are his wife, Beatrice, Ruth; 2 sons, Gary Pionk and Herb Pionk, both of Ruth; 2 daughters, Sharon Pozsgay, Deckerville, and Mrs. Randy (Arlene) Brown, Bad Axe; 7 grandchildren; 4 brothers, Enoch Pionk, Elmer Pionk and Archie Pionk, all of Ubly, and James Pionk, Kinde; 4 sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Susie) Peruski, Ubly, Anna Susalla, Bad Axe, Selma Grifka, Argyle, and Mrs. Frank (Rose) Lemanski, Minden City.  He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Stephanie ; 3 brothers, Clarence Pionk, Sylvester Pionk and Stanley Pionk, and one sister, Lucy Osentoski

Services were held Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  The Rev. Leonard Wilkuski, pastor, officiated.

Marie Evelyn (Shemka) Pionk

Mrs. Marie Evelyn Pionk, 72, of Ubly, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2005, at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.  She was born October 31, 1933 in Parisville to the late John and Minnie (Glaza) Shemka Sr.  She married Archie A. Pionk on May 1, 1954 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville.  He preceded her in death on January 13, 2005.  Marie attended and graduated from St. Mary Elementary School and attended Ubly High School.  She lived in Ubly for more than 50 years.  She worked at Hamill Manufacturing for more than 15 years.  She was a parishioner of St. John Catholic Church in Ubly.  She was a rug weaver for many years.  She loved to work in her garden and visit with family and friends.   
 
Marie is survived by two sons, Michael Pionk and his wife, Donna, of Hermitage, Tennessee, and Marvin Pionk and his wife, Barbara, of Bad Axe; five grandchildren, Matthew Pionk, of Houghton, Kimberly Pionk, of Bad Axe, and Hayley, Luke, and Julia Pionk, of Hermitage, Tennessee; one brother, LaVerne Shemka and his wife, Mary, of Port Hope; one sister, Jeanette Lemanski, of Madison Heights.   She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Shemka Jr. and Harry Shemka. 
 
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at St. John Catholic Church in Ubly.  The Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church.  Memorials are requested to St. John Catholic Church or Courtney Manor.

Florence A. (Booms) Ramisch

Florence A. Ramisch, 89, of Palms, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007, in the Huron Medical Center, Bad Axe.  Born in Harbor Beach on June 29, 1917, Florence was the daughter of the late Joseph and Matilda (Wolschleger) Booms.  On June 30, 1943, Florence and Elmer Ramisch were united in marriage in St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Helena.  Elmer preceded her in death on July 28, 2006.  Besides helping her husband on their Delaware Township farm, she enjoyed cooking and baking, sewing, growing flowers and canning what she grew in her garden.  Florence was a life long member of the St. John Catholic Church in Forestville and the Altar Society.   
 
She is survived by her children, Mary Ann Kyle and her husband, Rick, of Hudson, Florida, Ronald Ramisch 
and his wife, Mary, of Harbor Beach, Herbert Ramisch, of Palms, and John Ramisch, of Palms; five grandchildren, Kirsten, Kyle and Jonathan (Laila) Kyle, Matthew Nye, Laura Ramisch and Emma Ramisch; and great grandson, Aiden Kyle.   
 
A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, in St. John Catholic Church in Forestville with Fr.

Dorothy Marie (Messing) Roggenbuck

August 10, 1925 - November 21, 2009

Dorothy Marie (Messing) Roggenbuck, 84, of the Helena-Harbor Beach area, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Meadow Lane Assisted Living while under hospice care.   She was born August 10, 1925 in Ruth, to the late Henry and Lena (Tenbusch) Messing.   Dorothy married Jerome Roggenbuck on October 29, 1947 in St.  Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church in Ruth.   They spent their entire married life farming in the Helena area.   He preceded her in death on October 3, 1984.   She was a member of St.  Anthony’s Catholic Church of Helena and of the Altar Society.   She enjoyed quilting, gardening, playing cards and visiting with family and friends.  She called planning/cooking a holiday dinner or going out to eat “her party.” 

 

Dorothy is survived by seven children: her daughter, Audrey Holdwick and her husband, Bill, and their five children: Tammy, Eric (Joann), Kevin (Jodie), Greg and Keith (Abbey); son: Don and his wife, Carmen, and his three sons, Andy, Steve and Joe; son: Herb and his wife, Joann, and their two sons: Joshua (Sara) and Justin (Ellie); son: Dennis and his wife, Kathy, and their son, Tony (Lori); son: Duane and his wife, Maggie, and his two children, Rebecca and Jeremy (Kayla); son: Terry and his wife, Bernadette, and their two children, Ryan (Carol) and Andrea (Doug) Lobert; and daughter: Lynn Liebeskind and her husband, Jeff, and their daughter, Jessica.   She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren: Cole and Kacie (Tony) Roggenbuck; Travis and Tyler (Kevin) Holdwick; William (Ryan) Roggenbuck; Gabriel (Andrea) Lobert; Quentin (Keith) Holdwick.   She is survived by four step-grandchildren: Don (Roseanne);  Jim and Matt McQueen and Edson Ramirez Bazon (Don); three step-great-grandchildren: McKenzie Peruski (Keith Holdwick), Brady and Avery (Don) McQueen.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Dorothy was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Emily Holdwick in 1970 and by all of her Messing Siblings and their spouses: Anna (Henry) Essenmacher, Leo (Laurette) Messing, Clara (Joseph) Clor, Helen (Roman) Kirsch, Walter (Dorothy) Messing, Magdalene (George) Kranz, Leonard (Theresa) Messing,  Andrew (Genevieve) Messing,  Arthur (Catherine) Messing,  Lawrence (Margaret) Messing, Eleanor (John) Adler,  Irene (Walter) Samulski; sisters-in-law, Rochelle Roggenbuck, Aletha Romzek, and Monica DeYoung; and brothers-in-law, Glen Roggenbuck and Tony Roth.

 

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m.  on Wednesday, November  25, 2009 at St.  Anthony’s Catholic Church, Helena with Fr.  Bill Spencer officiating.  A parish vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m.  Tuesday in the Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach.   Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m.  Tuesday in the funeral home and from 10 a.m.  to the time of the service on Wednesday at the St.  Anthony’s Church.   Memorial may be given to St.  Anthony’s Renovation Fund.

Glenn A. Roggenbuck
August 23, 1939December 30, 1999
Glenn A. Roggenbuck, 60, of Harbor Beach passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 30, 1999, of an apparent heart attack.  He was born on August 23, 1939, in Harbor Beach to the late Leo and Clara (Booms) Roggenbuck.  Glenn and Barbara Thompson were married on January 11, 1969, in Bay City.  
 
Glenn is survived by his wife, Barb Roggenbuck of Harbor Beach; four children, Carmen Messing and her husband, Terry, of Ubly, Greg Roggenbuck and his wife, Marcia, of Harbor Beach, Paulette Heleski and her husband, Perry, of Bad Axe, and Pam Hessling and her husband, Mike, of Harbor Beach; five grandchildren, Rachael, Leah, David, Leo and T.J.; six brothers, Charles Roggenbuck and his wife, Bertha, Vincent Roggenbuck and his wife, Phyllis, Orville Roggenbuck and his wife, Lucy, all of Snover, Carl Roggenbuck and his wife, Carol, and Harry Roggenbuck and his wife, Rochelle, all of Harbor Beach and Earl Roggenbuck and his wife, Brenda, of Bad Axe; five sisters, Edna Roth and her husband, Anthony, of Palms, Monica deYoung of Houston, Texas, Lula Clark of Montana, Rebecca Groll and her husband, Richard, of Littleton, Colorado and Anita Plummer and her husband, Scott, of Huntsville, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Aletha Romzek, and a brother, Jerome Roggenbuck.  
 
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 3, 2000, in St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Helena with the Rev. Fr. Charlie Hammond, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Rochelle Roggenbuck

April 6, 1939April 5, 2005

Rochelle K. Roggenbuck, 65, of Harbor Beach passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at her home following a year-long illness.  Born in Ruth on April 6, 1939, she was the daughter of Catherine Seidl and the late Paul Seidl.  On November 22, 1959, Rochelle and Harry Roggenbuck were united in marriage in Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth.  She was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Helena and the Altar Society and the Bible Class. Rochelle enjoyed her garden and being with her family. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and at the long term care unit in Harbor Beach Community Hospital.

 

She is survived by her husband, Harry Roggenbuck of Harbor Beach and her children: Brian Roggenbuck and his wife, Susan, Scott Roggenbuck and his wife, Cindy, and Dean Roggenbuck, all of Harbor Beach, Renee Chumbler and her husband, David, of Bad Axe, and Dr. Leon Roggenbuck and his wife, Amy, of Sandusky; ten grandchildren; Ryan, Melissa and Heather Kramer, Nicholas, Aaron and Ashley Roggenbuck, Emily and Cody Chumbler and Ethan and Emma Roggenbuck; mother, Catherine Seidl of Ruth; and three sisters: Audrey Messing of Ruth, Connie Booms of Bad Axe, Geralyn Leatherbury of Yorktown, Virginia; and a brother, Dr. David Seidl, of Hastings.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Seidl and a brother, Aaron Seidl.

 

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2005, in St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Fr. Andrzej Boroch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. An Altar Society Rosary will be at 8 p.m. today and a parish vigil service at 8 p.m. on Thursday, both in the Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Friday at the church.  Memorials may be given to the United Hospice, American Cancer Society, or Our Lady of Lake Huron school.

Ernestine Bernice (Smaglinski) Romzek

November 29, 1926September 20, 2008

Mrs. Ernestine B. Romzek, 81, of Ruth passed away Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Huron Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.  Ernestine was born on November 29, 1926 in Sigel Township, where she resided her whole life, to the late Peter and Rose (Kubacki) Smaglinski.  She married Irvin J. Romzek on June 14, 1947 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. He preceded her in death on November 9, 2007.  Ernestine attended a rural school until the eighth grade. She worked in a factory in Detroit during World War II.  Ernestine then returned to the family farm for the rest of her life. She was a life long member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville where she was a member of the Rosary Sodality. Ernestine always enjoyed her flower garden, watching hummingbirds, hunting for morel mushrooms and picking agate stones at Lake Superior.  She was a gardener and naturalist. Ernestine was proficient at crocheting, knitting, embroidery, quilting, basket weaving, sewing and ceramics.  She also liked to play cards and enjoyed bingo, especially at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach.  Ernestine was the best ma and grandma in the whole world.

 

Ernestine is survived by six sons, Lt. Colonel retired from the U.S. Air Force, Arthur (Marlene) Romzek of Tawas City, Daniel (Susan) Romzek of Ruth, Michael (Margaret) Romzek of Cadillac, Isadore (Marian) Romzek of Harbor Beach, Raphael (Catherine) Romzek of Traverse City, Timothy (Marlene) Romzek of Ubly; one daughter, Marie (Paul) Heilig of Minden City; 22 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bernard Smaglinski and his wife, Susan, of Harbor Beach; two sisters, Edwina Lackowski of Bad Axe, Theresa McElgunn and her husband, Robert, of Emmett; four brothers-in-law, John Lawrence of Saginaw, Eugene (Evelyn) Romzek of Ubly, George (Charlotte) Romzek of Sandusky, David (Gerri) Romzek of Traverse City; five sisters-in-law, Mary Knoll of Caro, Agnes (William) Hool of Lupton, Juliann Steele of Warren, Dorothy (David) Rinke of Capac, Susan Romzek of Washington state.  Ernestine was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Monzo and Gertrude Lawrence; five brothers, Peter, Anthony, Joseph, Floyd and Valentine Smaglinski; four brothers-in-law, Ed Lackowski, Ed Monzo, Raymond and Benedict Romzek; one sister-in-law, Irene Shevokas.

 

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. The Rev. Peter Nwokoye, pastor of St. Mary’s and the Rev. Thomas McNamara will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. on Monday at Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly, from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church only. There will be a rosary at 4 p.m. on Monday by the St. Mary Rosary Sodality and a parish vigil service at 8 p.m. Both services will be at the funeral home.  Memorials are requested to the Family Discretionary fund or the donor’s choice.

Jerome J. Romzek   
May 11, 1939December 29, 2005
Jerome J. Romzek, 66, of Harbor Beach, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2005, at his home in Harbor Beach after a short illness.   Born in East Detroit on May 11, 1939, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Theresa (Kociba) Romzek.   Jerome was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in the late 1950's.  He was a retired employee of the J & L Steel Company retiring in 1992.  Jerome was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach.   
 
Surviving are his children, Michael Romzek and his wife, Wendy, of Ruth, Cheryl Kelly and her husband, Kristopher, of Grand Blanc, and Scott Romzek and his wife, Traci, of Millington; ten grandchildren, Cody, Kyle and Allison Romzek, William III, Kaila, Elyssa, Kaitlyn, and Emily Kelly and Andrew and Zachary Romzek; two brothers, Duane Romzek, of Harbor Beach, and Robert Romzek, of Flint; and four sisters, Gloria (Robert) Elkins, of Deland, Florida, Moreen Foagle, of Canton, Barbara (Dave) Romzek-Greenmeyer, of Lawrence, Kansas, Kathy (Floyd) Shottwell, of Shelby Township; and a brother-in-law, Ray Abraham, of New Haven.   Jerome was preceded in death by Marilyn Abraham. 
 
A Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 1, 2006, in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, Harbor Beach, with Fr. T.J. Fleming, pastor, officiating. Cremation will follow in Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City and interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. on Saturday in the Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach, and from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday at the church.

Walter L. Samulski
July 11, 1924January 31, 2001
Walter L. Samulski, 76, of Harbor Beach passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2001, at his home following an apparent heart attack.   He was born on July 11, 1924, in Detroit, son of the late Louis and Leona (Grates) Samulski.   Irene Messing and Walter were united in marriage on February 19, 1944, in Ruth. She preceded him in death on July 16, 1977.   Walter was a farmer, formerly owned and operated the Farmer's Tavern in Ruth, and owned and operated the Farmer's Market (the Purple Store) south of Harbor Beach. He also had a grocery truck that traveled throughout the area and had dances and auctions in the Twin Star Barn.   
 
Walt is survived by his children, Judy Klee and her husband, Charles, of Bad Axe, Walter Samulski Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Canton, Michael Samulski of Pontiac and Marjorie Dickinson and her husband, Wayne, of Marquette; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise Terwilliger of Bad Axe. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Samulski in 1997.   
 
A private family service will be conducted on Saturday, February 3, 2001, with burial in the Our Lady of Lake Huron Church Cemetery, Harbor Beach. Fr. Harry Sikorski will officiate.   Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Ramsey Funeral Home in Harbor Beach.

Ruth (Regina) C. (Bazinski/Basinski) Glaza Scheski

August 7, 1908February 4, 2001

Regina C.  Scheski, 92, formerly of 3200 Water St., died Sunday, February 4, 2001, at the Portage County Health Care Center.  
Services will be at
11:30 a.m.  Wednesday at St.  Stephen Catholic Church, with Deacon Robert Hensen officiating.  Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.  (located at Hwy 10 East and Frontenac Ave., City of Stevens Point, Portage Co, WI.)  Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m.  Wednesday at the church until the services.   Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral home is assisting the family with arrangements.   In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be sent to St.  Stephen Church or the Sisters of St.  Joseph Convent.  

 

Mrs.  Scheski was born August 7, 1908, in Rosholt, (Wisconsin) a daughter of the late Valentine and Gertrude (Bronk) Basinski.    She was raised in the town of Sharon and attended rural grade school.   She was married to Leonard Glaza on March 4, 1930.  He died October 21, 1931.   She was married to Leo Scheski on August 13, 1941.  He died in 1962.   She retired from the food services at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.  She had previously been employed at a shoe factory in Milwaukee.   She was a member of St.  Stanislaus Rosary Society.  


Survivors include one sister, Sister M.  Erasmus, Sisters of St.  Joseph Convent,
Stevens Point; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.   She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Gertrude.

 
 

 

Helen A. (Booms) Scholtz

November 21, 1919April 28, 2005

 

Helen A.  Scholtz, 85, of Harbor Beach passed away Thursday, April 28, 2005, in the long-term care unit of the Harbor Beach Community Hospital.   Born in Harbor Beach on November 21, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Matilda (Wolschleger) Booms.   Helen and John Scholtz were united in marriage on June 14, 1938, at St.  Anthony's Catholic Church in Helena.   John preceded her in death on August 4, 1974.   She was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach and enjoyed quilting and crocheting afghans for her family. 

 

Helen is survived by her three sons: Richard Scholtz and his wife, Patti, of Redondo Beach, California; Robert Scholtz and his wife, Debbie of Chesterland, Ohio; and Brian Scholtz and his wife, Shelly, of Harbor Beach; ten daughters: Diane Volmering and her husband, Eugene, of Harbor Beach; Judith Cremers and her husband, Tom, of Lessburg, Florida; Joan O'Neil and her husband, Gerry, of Center Harbor, New Hampshire; Elizabeth Harder and her husband, Betti, of Polk City, Florida; Marlene O'Connor and her husband, Pat, of Sutton Bay; Lorene Bronner and her husband, Wayne, of Frankenmuth; Margo Roth and her husband, Les, of Bad Axe; Sheri Crosswhite and her husband, Darrell, of Coleman; Dinise Rumler and her husband, Pat, of Leslie; and Carol Klein and her husband, Greg, of Montage; 43 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and two sisters Mary Kramer of Harbor Beach and Florence Ramisch of Palms.    She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Scholtz in 1975; a son-in-law Michael Harder in 2005; five sisters: Cecilia Terbrack, Amelia Booms, Sarah Essenmacher, Adeline Wehner, Frances Booms; and three brothers: Allen Booms, Clarence Booms, and Joe Booms. 

 

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m.  on Monday, May 2, 2005, at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach with Fr.  T.J.  Fleming, pastor, presiding.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  A parish vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m.  on Sunday at the Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach.   Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m.  on Saturday at the funeral home, and from 10 a.m.  until the time of funeral on Monday at the church.   Memorials may be given to OLLH Church or School or to Heartland Hospice.

Arlene S. (Kociba) Schultz, 60, of Otisville, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at University of Michigan Medical Center.  Arlene was born in Parisville on February 27, 1944, daughter of Alfred and Evelyn (Glaza) Lemanski.    She was employed by Rite Aid Pharmacy in Otisville. 


Arlene is survived by her husband, Edward Schultz; three children, Deanna Beyer, and her husband, Jeffrey, Daniel Kociba and his wife, Cheryl, Denise Stewart and special friend, Matthew Scrase; seven grandchildren; a brother, Ronald Lemanski and his wife, Linda, of Mauldin, South Carolina; sisters, Mary Ann Wrubel and her husband, Kenneth of Minden City, Rita Osentoski and her husband Jim, of Ubly, Lorraine Barnes and her husband, James, of Imlay City; several nieces and nephews; a step-father, George Lemanski of Bad Axe; sister-in-laws, Janet Elbers and her husband, Ed, Margaret Cook, Loretta Hoose and her husband, Bill; brother-in-law Ronald Schultz and his wife, Kaye.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Kociba; her parents; a brother, Dennis.

4 p.m. Sunday, Jan 9, 2005 at the Hudson Funeral Home at 116 Grove Street in Otisville.  Interment will be in the Parisville Cemetery in Ubly.

Thomas James Schumacher

Thomas James Schumacher, 65, a lifelong Sherman Township resident, died Thursday, March 29, 2007, at his home of an apparent heart attack.   He was born July 25, 1941 in Sherman Township, son of the late Raymond and Lauretta (Kirsch) Schumacher.   He married Jacqueline Ann Messing on November 27, 1965 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth.   Mr. Schumacher attended SS. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Ruth and was a 1958 graduate of Harbor Beach High School.  He was a retired construction worker and farmer.  Thomas enjoyed playing cards, pool, going to antique tractor shows and hunting.  He was a member of the Old Farts Pool Team, The Thumb Two Cylinder Club, the "House of Knowledge" in Ruth, and was president of the Farmers' Mutual Fire Agency. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and horses.   
 
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Ann, of Sherman Township; five daughters, Michelle Seidl and her husband, Gerard, of Croswell, Kathleen Hall and her husband, Thomas, of  Livonia, Francine Kinsella and her husband, Robert, of San Diego, California, Stephanie Kartha and her husband, Mohan, of Ypsilanti, and Kimberly Schumacher, of Ypsilanti; nine grandchildren, Amy, Bradley, Eric and Kyle Seidl, Jacob, Dillon and Alexander Hall, Nathan and Makensie Kinsella; three step grandchildren, Jessica Kinsella, Michael Barrios and Caleb Kartha; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clement and Donna Messing, of Ruth; one brother, Lloyd Schumacher and his wife, Betty, of Sandusky; four sisters, Arlene Martin, of Northville, Ann Uicker, of Madison, Wisconsin, Bessie Kirsch and her husband, Donald, of Port Hope, and Jane Volmering and her husband, Ronald, of Ruth; 24 nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Richard Martin, Ronald Messing, and Richard Feury; and one nephew, Terence Kirsch. 
 
A Funeral Mass for Mr. Schumacher will be at 11 a.m. today, April 2, 2007, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. The Rev. T.J. Fleming, pastor of Our Lady of Lake Huron Parish in Harbor Beach, will officiate.   Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. today at the church. Jeanette Seidl, 76, of Ferndale died Sunday, April 11, 1999, at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. 

 
She is survived by her husband, Frank, of
Ferndale; daughters: Joan C. Haak and her husband, Edward, of Madison Heights; Judith A. Walker and her husband, Philip, of Sterling Heights; and Janice M. Mormino and her husband, Nick, of St. Clair Shores; three sons: Carl J. Seidl and his wife, Kathryn, of Shillington, Pennsylvania; Mark J. Seidl and his wife, Jane, of South Lyon; and George Seidl and his wife, Kathi, of Ferndale; sisters: Evelyn Learman of Harbor Beach; Adelide Block and her husband, Jerome, of Ruth; Rita Glaza and her husband, Art, of Ruth; Beatrice Glaza and her husband, Norman, of Hazel Park; Alice Sadro and her husband, Ken, of Bad Axe; and Rosalie Holdwick and her husband, Dick, of Bad Axe; brothers: Marvin Terbrack and his wife, Jean, of Ruth; Clarence Terbrack and his wife, Delores, of Ruth; John Terbrack of Southgate; and Donald Terbrack and his wife, Nancy, of Harbor Beach; and 13 grandchildren.    She was preceded in death by brothers and sister, Marius Terbrack, Herbert Terbrack, Herman Terbrack, Gerald Terbrack and Matilda Johnson. 


Funeral services were conducted
Thursday, April 15, 1999, at St. James Catholic Church with the Rev.  Robert Wurm officiating.  Burial was in Roseland Park in Berkeley. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Janice Ann (Maurer) Shemka
August 3, 1948October 30, 2002
Mrs. Janice Ann Shemka, 54, of Essexville and formerly of Bad Axe and Ubly, died Wednesday, October 30, 2002, at her residence.   She was born on August 3, 1948 in Bad Axe, daughter of John Maurer and the late Helen (Weltin) Maurer.   She married John Shemka Jr. on August 23, 1969 at Holy Trinity Parish, Smith Corners.  He preceded her in death on August 26, 1989.   She attended elementary school at St. Mary's Catholic School of Parisville and was a 1967 graduate of Ubly High School.  She attended Northern Michigan University for two years.  Janice held a number of different positions including doing the parish bulletin at St. John Parish of Ubly.  She worked at Seat Belt, was a clerk at Perry Drug Store, was a salesperson at Sweetheart Bridal in Bad Axe, worked as a secretary at Maurer Builders, and was employed as a secretary for the Huron County Board of Commissioners.   She was a "go to person" for all of her younger siblings and would say to them "as all of you know, I am right."   She collected china, crystal and jewelry.  She enjoyed baking, canning and cooking.  She sewed her own wardrobe.   
 
She is survived by her daughter, Lori Shemka of Eastpointe; her son, Anthony "A.J." Shemka of Pinckney; her father, John Maurer and his wife, Joan, of Ubly; eight brothers, Benedict Maurer of Ubly, Marcus Maurer of Homer, James Maurer and his wife, Jeannie, of Ruth, John Maurer Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Plymouth, Stephen Maurer and his wife, Carlin, of Bad Axe, Joseph Maurer of Ubly, Glen Maurer and his wife, Melissa, of Chesterfield Township, Gary Maurer of Northeast Grand Rapids; six sisters, Marian Holdwick and her husband, Gene, of Harbor Beach, Theresa Mazure and her husband, Michael, of Port Austin, Lucille Recker and her husband, August, of Ubly, Ann Maurer of Waterford, Carol Maurer of Bloomfield Township, Margaret Maurer of Saginaw; brother-in-law, Bill Herford, of Elkton; several nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her husband, John Shemka Jr.; her mother, Helen Maurer; and her sister, Pauline Herford.   
 
Funeral mass was celebrated at noon on Saturday, November 2, 2002, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Smith Corners. The Rev. John Weis officiated. Burial was in Holy Trinity Cemetery.   Arrangements were handled by Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly. 
 
 
 

Clarice L. (Booms) Siemen

July 14, 1941 - August 12, 2008

Clarice L.  Siemen, 67, of Harbor Beach, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at her home under hospice care.

Clarice was born on July 14, 1941 in Harbor Beach, to the late Clarence and Laura (Sholtz) Booms.   Clarice and Ronald Siemen were united in marriage on May 7, 1960 in St.  Anthony’s Church in Helena.   Clarice was a member of St.  Anthony’s Catholic Church of Helena, the Altar Society, and was a catechism teacher.   She enjoyed gardening and her flowers and fishing.  

 

She is survived by her husband, Ronald, of Harbor Beach; her children: Stephanie Mazure and her husband, Glenn, of Bad Axe; Gregory Siemen and his wife, Cindy, of Harbor Beach; Mary Messing and her husband, Wade, of Beecher, Illinois; Joseph and Audrey Siemen of Harbor Beach; Matthew Siemen and his wife, Sandra, of Carsonville and Angela Holdwick and her husband, Patrick, of Birch Run; brothers: James Booms of Harbor Beach; Robert Booms of Harbor Beach; Albert Booms and his wife, Nanita, of Georgia; Warren Booms and his wife, Anna, of Saginaw and Gene Booms and his wife, Emily, of Harbor Beach; sisters: Marilyn Essenmacher and her husband, Lloyd, of Harbor Beach; Charlotte Talaski of Harbor Beach; Matilda Messing and her husband, Dan, of Harbor Beach and Ramona Bell of San Antonio, Texas; a sister-in-law, Delphine Booms; and a brother-in-law, Ray Mazure; 18 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.   Clarice was predeceased by a daughter, Corrina “Corky” Siemen in 1989; sisters Barbara Mazure and Judy Booms; and brothers Kenneth Booms and Steven Booms.

 

The Altar Society will have a rosary service at 7:30 p.m.  Wednesday at the funeral home.  A parish vigil service will take place at 7:30 p.m.  Thursday at the funeral home.   Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m.  Friday, August  15, 2008 at St.  Anthony’s Catholic Church of Helena.  Fr.  William Spencer will officiate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Ronald S. Siemen

January 22, 1940- October 8, 2008

Ronald S.  Siemen, 68, of Harbor Beach passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 peacefully at his home under hospice care.   He was born on January 22, 1940 to the late Sylvester and Magdalene (Essenmacher) Siemen in Harbor Beach.  Ron and Clarice Booms were united in marriage on May 7, 1960 in Helena.   Clarice preceded him in death on August 12, 2008.   Ron was a member of St.  Anthony’s Catholic Church of Helena and a member of the St.  Anthony’s Men’s Club.   Ron is a retired farmer and Michigan Sugar Company employee.   He enjoyed fishing for bass, his garden, growing fruit trees, and a good game of euchre.  

 

He is survived by his children: Stephanie Mazure and her husband, Glenn, of Bad Axe; Gregory Siemen and his wife, Cindy, of Harbor Beach; Mary Messing and her husband, Wade, of Beecher, Illinois; Joseph Siemen and his wife, Audrey, of Harbor Beach; Matthew Siemen and his wife, Sandra, of Carsonville, and Angela Holdwick and her husband, Patrick, of Birch Run; 18 grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.  He is survived by one brother, William Siemen and his wife, Betty, of Imlay City; five sisters: Marilyn Klama and her husband, Pete, of Richmond; Marie Helmreich and her husband, Ken, of Minden City; Pamela Sochacki and her husband, Rick, of Gladwin; Sherry Learman and her husband, Richard, of Bad Axe; and Julie Booms and her husband, Gary, of Harbor Beach.   Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Clarice; and daughter, Corrina “Corky” Siemen.

 

Funeral Mass for Ron will be at 10 a.m.  Saturday, October  11, 2008 in St.  Anthony’s Catholic Church of Helena, with Fr.  William Spencer and Fr.  Peter Nwokoye officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Beatrice (Glaza) Sobczak  
May 19, 1924December 28, 1999
Mrs. Beatrice Sobczak, 75, of Bad Axe died Tuesday, December 28, 1999, at her home.  She was born May 19, 1924, in Harbor Beach, daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Pyrek) Glaza.  She married Leonard F. Sobczak Sr. on May 27, 1943, in Detroit.  He preceded her in death on May 24, 1977.   
 
She is survived by five sons, John Sobczak and his wife, Bernice, of Clearcoke, Florida, Leonard Sobczak Jr. and his wife, Doris, of Ubly, Ronald Sobczak and his wife, Sharon, of Port Hope, Lawrence Sobczak of Marysville, Daniel Sobczak and his wife, Shirley, of Bad Axe; two daughters, Patricia Simmons and her husband, Harold, of Iffingham, Illinois, Cynthia Zaremba and her husband, Bernard, of China Township; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Susie Grifka of Ubly and Frances Kanaby and her husband, Larry, of Bad Axe; two brothers, Walter Glaza and his wife, Delores, of Ubly and Roman Glaza and his wife, Lucille, of Ubly.   She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Fisher and Grace Kosal.   
 
Mass of Resurrection will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. 
The Rev. Jack Leipert, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Parisville.

Blaine R. Sosnoski
May 13, 1944May 14, 2008

Mr. Blaine R. Sosnoski, 64, of Bad Axe, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Bay Regional Medical Center in Bay City.  Blaine was born on May 13, 1944 at home in Bloomfield Township to the late Ernest and Gertrude (Glaza) Sosnoski.  He married Linda Parker on July 22, 1966 in Verona.  She preceded him in death on April 17, 2008.  Blaine was a graduate of Harbor Beach High School and St. Clair Community College.  He served in the U.S. Navy.  He worked at Tower Automotive, retiring after 43 years.  Blaine enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time at his cabin in Lewiston.  He truly enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.

 

Blaine is survived by one daughter, Tiffany Essenmacher; and her husband, Ken, of Ruth; three grandchildren, Amber, Brooklynn and McKenzie Essenmacher; one sister, Sandra Duda and her husband, Donald, of Harbor Beach; his father-in-law, Jerry Parker of Harbor Beach; one brother-in-law, Gerald Parker and his wife, Bea, of Harbor Beach.  He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Dennis Parker and his mother-in-law, Madeline Parker.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17 at the Smigielski Funeral Home in Minden City. The Rev. Joseph Griffin, pastor of St. John Catholic Church in Ubly, will officiate. Burial will be at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Rapson with military honors provided by the Burhams-Hagedon American Legion Post #197 of Harbor Beach.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Smigielski Funeral Home on Cass Ave in Minden City.  Memorials are requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.

Linda Rose Mary (Parker) Sosnoski

Mrs. Linda Rose Mary Sosnoski, 58, of Bad Axe passed away Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Bay Medical Center in Bay City.  Linda was born on August 19, 1949 in Harbor Beach to Jerome “Jerry” Parker and the late Madeline “Mad” (Scoviac) Parker. She married Blaine Sosnoski on July 22, 1966 in Verona.  Linda was a graduate of Harbor Beach High School.  She lived with her husband while he was in the service from 1966 to 1970 when they moved back to the area.  She started working at the Bad Axe Library in 1985 and was employed there for over 20 years.  Linda was a member of the Harbor Beach VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed flowers, hunting, crocheting, cross stitching and visiting casinos.

 

Linda is survived by her husband of almost 42 years, Blaine, of Bad Axe; one daughter, Tiffany Essenmacher and her husband, Ken, of Ruth; three grandchildren, Amber, Brooklynn and McKenzie Essenmacher; her father, Jerome “Jerry” Parker of Harbor Beach; one brother, Gerald Parker and his wife, Bea, of Harbor Beach.  Linda was preceded in death by one brother, Dennis Parker, in 2007.

 

Funeral service will be at 8 p.m., Friday, April 18, 2008 at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Fr. Bill Spencer, pastor of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach, will officiate.  Burial will be in the Our Lady of Lake Huron Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly.  Memorials are requested to the Family Discretionary Fund.

Pearl Catherine (Seidl) Stacer

Pearl Catherine Stacer, 73, passed away Friday, October 9, 2009 at home.  She was born February 16, 1936 in Ruth to Anthony & Charlotte (Clor) Seidl.  She has lived in Gladwin County since 1999, previously residing in Livonia.  Pearl was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Edenville.  She married Leonard Stacer February 19, 1966 in Detroit.

 

He survives her along with their children: Brad Stacer of Livonia, Rhonda Stacer of Westland, David Stacer of Hoboken, New Jersey, Craig Stacer of Chicago; two grandchildren, Jacob and Zachary.  Pearl is also survived by her mother, Charlotte Seidl of Warren; brothers: Gerald Seidl of St. Clair Shores and Richard Seidl of Warren; sisters: Marie Szlag of Madison Heights and Sally Cooney of Angola, Indiana.  She was preceded in death by her father, Anthony and a sister, Donna Seidl.

 

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday October 13, 2009 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Edenville.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, 440 E. Cedar Ave., Gladwin with Vigil service at 7 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Dale Cemetery Beaverton.

Roy Thomas Talaski
June 5, 1961November 15, 2002
Mr. Roy Thomas Talaski, 41, of Rochester and formerly of Rapson, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 15, 2002, while doing what he enjoyed, hunting with his family.   Roy was born on June 5, 1961, in Harbor Beach to Elmer and Darlene Talaski.   Roy was employed at DeAngeles Construction Co. of Woodhaven.  He lived his life to the fullest and was very dedicated to his daughters and family.  They will all miss him.  
 
Roy is survived by two daughters, Kylee Schrader Talaski and Kelsey Capling, both of Bad Axe; parents, Elmer and Darlene Talaski of Bad Axe; three brothers, Roger Talaski and his wife, Debbie, Ricky Talaski and his wife, Linda, Ronald Talaski and his wife, Brenda, all of Bad Axe; four sisters, Lori Dubs and her husband, Tony, of Kinde, Lynn Engelhart and her husband, Dennis, of Lake Orion, Lana Lopiccola and her husband, Jim, of Sterling Heights, and Lois Talaski of Bad Axe; special friend, Kristine Kegel of Rochester; and nieces and nephews.   
 
Funeral mass for Roy Talaski will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rapson. The Rev. John Weis, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.   There will be a parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m. today at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly.   Visitation will be from 1 to 9:30 p.m. today and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Judith A. (Glaza) Tiede

Mrs.  Tiede died Sunday morning, July 30, 2006 at her home, age 64 years.   She was born the daughter of the late Emil S. and Christine (Burzynski) Glaza on September 27, 1941 in Bay City and has resided in this area all her life.   She worked and retired from Bay City Public School as a bus driver in June 2005 after 30 years of service.   She was very active with the Boy Scouts of America, youth bowling and the Midland Bowling Association where in 20??, she was inducted into the Midland Bowling Hall of Fame.   She was a member of St. Valentine Catholic Church in Kawkawlin.   On December 2, 1961 she married Frederick G.  “Fred” Tiede, he survives her.   
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Glen Howard Thrushman

Glen Howard Thrushman, 73, resident of Grindstone, died Thursday morning, October 23, 2003, at Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe.  He was born April 30, 1930 in Huron City to the late Barney and Lillian (Beggs) Thrushman.  Glen married Ilene Goniwicha on November 7, 1952 in Rapson.  Mr. Thrushman was employed at Chrysler in Warren for 30 years.  He was a member of the local 869 Union, the American Legion Post 499 in Port Austin and the New Port Richey Moose Lodge.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  He owned a trailer park in Grindstone.  He enjoyed building houses, golfing, fishing, hunting and playing euchre.  
 
Glen is survived by his wife, Ilene; two sons, Terry Thrushman and his wife, Terrie, of Lake Orion, Scott Thrushman and his wife, Lucynda, of Lake Orion; one daughter, Robin Morton and her husband, Larry, of Linden; four brothers, Chuck Thrushman and his wife, Loretta, of Port Huron, Barney Thrushman and his wife, Gertrude, of Port Huron, Leland Thrushman and his wife, Virginia, of Royal Oak, Roland Thrushman and his wife, Helen, of Port Austin; six sisters, Iva Maynard, of Harbor Beach, Violet Jaljka and her husband, Walter, of New Port Richey, Florida., Clara Koglin and her husband, Frank, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Eleanor Nowiski and her husband, Erwin, of New Port Richey, Florida., Mary Odoefer and her husband, Barney, of Warren, Ann Schubring and her husband, Barney, of Port Hope; four grandchildren, Keith Kaltz, Kayla Thrushman, Kyle Thrushman, and Brady Morton; and several nieces and nephews.   Mr. Thrushman was preceded in death 
by one brother, William Thrushman; and one sister, Pearl Thrushman.   
 
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2003 at MacAlpine Funeral Home - Gage Chapel in Kinde. The Rev. Robert Garret will officiate.   Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.   Memorials may be offered to the American Cancer Society.

Deward Leo Trepkowski

June 26, 1934 - July 21, 2002

Deward (Dewey) Leo Trepkowski, 68, of Cape Coral, Florida  passed away Sunday, July 21, 2002, at the Hope Hospice House after a short illness.  Deward was born June 26, 1934, in Deckerville to the late Walter and Minnie (Jaskowski) Trepkowski.  He married Mary Margaret (Peggy) Mathias on May 28, 1960, in Grosse Ile.  Deward was a graduate of Cedardale Elementary School and a 1952 graduate of Bad Axe High School.  He was a U.S.  Army veteran serving in Japan.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Club of Cape Coral. 

 

Deward is survived by his wife, Mary Margaret of Cape Coral; three daughters, Lisa Wellenbacher, Jill Muller and her husband, Charlie, and Anne Marie Searls and her husband, Jeffery, all of Cape Coral; one son, David Trepkowski and his wife, Carrie, of Santa Clarita, California; 10 grandchildren; four sisters, Betty Cornett, Doris Holz and her husband, Kenneth, Mary Ann Brown and her husband, Wilburt, all of Bad Axe, and Nancy Smith and her husband, Gerald, of Bay City; one sister-in-law, Patricia Trepkowski.  He was preceded in death by one brother, James Trepkowski and brother-in-law Ernest Cornett. 

A memorial mass took place at 3 p.m.  Monday, July 22, 2002, at the Coral Ridge Funeral Home in Cape Coral with the Rev.  Fr.  John Deary officiating.  Memorials may be made to the family discretionary fund.

Ann Marie (Schumacher) Uicker

March 12, 1939 - May 9, 2008

Ann M. Uicker, 69, passed away peacefully in her sleep early on Friday, May 9, 2008, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Care Center in Fitchburg, Wisconsin.   She had recently been a resident of All Saints Retirement Community.   Ann was born to Raymond and Lauretta (Kirsch) Schumacher on March 12, 1939, at the family farm her great-grandfather established in Sherman Township, in 1881.   She graduated from Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic High School in 1956, and went on to attend Marygrove College in Detroit, graduating in 1960 with a major in history.   She then taught elementary school for a year in Dearborn before her marriage to John J.  Uicker, Jr.  on August 12, 1961.   They moved to the Evanston, Illinois area, where Ann taught second grade from 1961-1963, while her husband earned his PhD at Northwestern University.   In 1967, the family came to Madison, Wisconsin, where Ann raised six children.   She taught as a substitute in several Dane County schools from 1984-1988, when she took a full-time position with Madison Newspapers (now Capital Newspapers.)  She continued there in various customer service and dispatching roles until her retirement in November, 2006.  Ann had a green thumb and successfully grew many flowers and plants in containers or small plots.   She enjoyed watching the birds and butterflies who visited her garden each day.   Ann’s other long-time hobby was genealogy.   She had a talent for detailed research and filled in many gaps in the family history over the years, solving some difficult puzzles.   She used the Internet to assist her research, and kept up an avid email correspondence with many friends and family members.   When she wasn’t solving genealogical problems, she enjoyed working crosswords, cryptograms, and Sudoku puzzles.   Ann was a long-time member of Saint Maria Goretti Church. 

 

She is survived by her friend and former spouse, Prof.  John J.  Uicker, Jr.  of Madison, Wisconsin; her six children, Theresa (Chris) Zenchenko of Evansville, Wisconsin;  John (and Paula) Uicker of Dearborn, Michigan; Joe (Alice) Uicker of Madison, Wisconsin, Dottie (Dean) Winger of Madison, Wisconsin; Barbara (Mark) Peterson of Bedford Park, Illinois;  Joan (Kevin) Horne of Sugar Grove, Illinois;  her brother, Lloyd (Betty) Schumacher of Sandusky, Michigan; her sisters, Arlene Martin of Northville, Michigan;  Bessie (Don) Kirsch of Port Hope;  Jane (Ron) Volmering of Harbor Beach; her sister-in-law Jackie Schumacher of Harbor Beach; six grandchildren, Andrew Uicker, Rose and Joey Winger, Nicoleta and Alina Uicker, and Maddie Peterson; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.  Ann was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Ray and Laura Schumacher; her brother, Tom Schumacher; and her nephew, Terry Kirsch.   Interment will be in the SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.

Steve Ulfig
September 2, 1920October 23, 2002
Mr. Steve Ulfig, 82, of Bad Axe, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2002, at Bay Regional Medical Center of Bay City.   Steve was born on September 2, 1920, in Parisville to the late Michael and Josephine (Puvalowski) Ulfig.   He married Helen Alent on October 13, 1951, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville.   Steve graduated from a country school.  He was a veteran of World War II.   He worked for Active for 32 years before he retired in 1985.  He lived in Parisville most of his life before moving to Bad Axe in 1995.  He was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville where he was an usher and a member of the St. Mary Men's Club.  He was a member of the Parisville VFW Post No. 5740 of Ruth.  He was a member of the Ruth Knights of Columbus Council No. 3823.  He was a current parishioner of Sacred Heart in Bad Axe.  He was a member of the Bad Axe Senior Citizen's Club.  He enjoyed gardening, playing cards and visiting with his grandchildren.   
 
Steve is survived by his wife, Helen, of Bad Axe; five children, Sharon Wolschleger and her husband, Gordon, of Decker, Michael Ulfig and his wife, April, of Naples, Florida, Robert Ulfig and his wife, Tatiana, of Naples, Florida, Stephen Ulfig and his wife, Patricia, of Bad Axe, Laurie Mazure and her husband, Neil, of Harbor Beach; eight grandchildren, Tammy Gerstenberger and her husband, Steve, Tracy Gerstenberger and her husband, Scott, Melissa Ulfig, Adam Ulfig, Jason, Randall, Derek, and Dustin Mazure; three step-grandchildren, Paul and Hilly Yeranosyan, Chrissy Barlow; five great granddaughters, Ashley, Kayla, Cory, Katlynn, and Jacob Gerstenberger; one step great granddaughter, Nicole Gerstenberger; two sisters, Stella Susalla of Harbor Beach, Genevieve O'Parka and her husband, Chester, of Bad Axe.   Steve was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Frank and Walter Ulfig and one sister, Florence Susalla.   
 
Funeral mass for Steven Ulfig will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2002, at Sacred Heart parish of Bad Axe with military honors. The Rev. John Killop, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery of Parisville. There will be a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. on Friday and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 8 p.m. Both services will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly.   Visitation will be from 12:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Cecilia Annie (Messing) Van Dalen  
December 9, 1907 - February 28, 2004
Mrs.  Cecilia A.  Van Dalen, 96, of Sandusky and formerly of Argyle and Palms, passed away, Saturday, February 28, 2004, at the Sanilac Medical Care Facility.  Cecilia was born December 9, 1907 in Ruth to the late William and Mary (Emming) Messing.  She married August H. Van Dalen on June 6, 1933 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth.  He preceded her in death on August 27, 1948.  Cecilia attended SS. Peter and Paul School.  She did domestic work in Detroit.  She then farmed with her husband and family until 1963.   She resided with family in both the Argyle and Grand Rapids areas for many years.   She was a former member of St.  Patrick Catholic Church in Palms and a current parishioner at St.  Joseph Catholic Church in Argyle.   She enjoyed visiting with family and friends.   
 
Cecilia is survived by her four children:  Joseph Van Dalen and his wife, Margaret, of Palms; Mary Doerr and her husband, Bill, of Argyle; William Van Dalen and his wife, Katie, of Palms; and Martha Walters and her husband, Larry, of Newaygo; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; three brothers:  Norman Messing and his wife, Eleanor, of Bad Axe; Robert Messing, of Ruth and Clement Messing and his wife, Donna, of Ruth; two sisters: Mary Essenmacher, of Harbor Beach, and Gladys Priemer, of Ruth.    
She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Van Dalen; daughter, Paula Van Dalen; three brothers: Wilfred, Charles and James Messing; three sisters: Eleanor Van Dalen (infant sister), Genevieve Kosal, and Margaret Kirsch.

T.J.  Fleming, pastor, will officiate.   Burial will be in the SS.  Peter and Paul Cemetery in the spring.  Visitation will be from 1:30 to 8:30 p.m.  on Tuesday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the church only.   There will be a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorials requested to St. Joseph Parish or the Sanilac Medical Care Facility.

Eugene Volmering
May 1, 1935 - March 1, 2008

Eugene Volmering, 72, of Sherman Township, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008 at his home.  He was born May 1, 1935 to the late William and Anna (Emming) Volmering in Ruth. Eugene and Dian Scholtz were united in marriage October 13, 1956 in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church of Harbor Beach.  Eugene worked on the family farm for many years.  He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Ruth, a member of the Knights of Columbus of Ruth Council 3823, and a member of Farm Bureau.  He enjoyed playing cards at the House of Knowledge and with his friends and family.

 

Eugene is survived by his wife, Dian of Ruth; his children, James Volmering and his wife, Denise, of Phoenix, Arizona, Debbie Geiger and her husband, Dale, of Ruth, Brad Volmering and his wife, Ellynne of Palms, Steven Volmering and his wife, Donna, of Harbor Beach, Michael Volmering and his wife, Rhonda, of Harbor Beach, Michele Grekowicz and her husband, Chris, of Harbor Beach, Bryce Volmering of Michigan, Lynn Kern and her husband, Kurt, of Bridgeport, Lisa Moeggenborg and her husband, Brent, of St. Johns, and John Volmering and his wife, Emily, of Midland. Eugene has 27 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  He also is survived by his brothers, Jerome (Eileen) Volmering of Harbor Beach and Raymond Volmering of Ruth; and his sisters, Lorraine (Stanley) Peruski of Ubly and Doris (Bernard) Roberts of Harbor Beach.  Eugene is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

 

Funeral Mass for Eugene will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008 in Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Ruth, Fr. Robert Paré officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.  Visitation for Eugene will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Knights of Columbus will have a rosary service at 4 p.m. Tuesday and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Charles  W. VanWormer
October 30, 1924September 3, 1959
Charles W.  VanWormer, 34, former Port Huron resident where he was employed by the Michigan Motor Freight Company, died Thursday in Pomona California after a long illness.   Mr.  VanWormer was born October 30, 1924 in Yale, son of Mr.  & Mr.  John W.  VanWormer.   He married Eleanor Booms, Harbor Beach in July, 1947.   
 
He is survived by his widow; 2 sons: Charles and Vernon VanWormer; his mother, Mrs. Marion LaRue and a sister, Mrs. Stanley Bowers, both of Port Huron and three uncles: Raymond and William VanWormer, Port Huron; and Justin VanWormer, Detroit.  
 
The remains are in the Blackman funeral home, Pomona.   Requiem Mass will be sung at 11:30.  
 
 
 
 
 
 

Adeline (Booms) Wehner

March 29, 1909December 16, 1946

Harbor Beach, Dec 16 – Mrs.  Adeline Booms Wehner, 38, wife of Clarence Wehner, died in Harbor Beach hospital about 3 p.m. Monday, several hours after the birth of a son.   Mrs. Wehner is survived by her husband, five small children: Gloria, Arley, Larry, Beverly and her infant son; her mother, Mrs. Joseph Booms Sr., Harbor Beach; three brothers: Clarence, Allen and Joseph Booms Jr., all of Harbor Beach and six sisters: Mrs.  John Terbrack, Ruth; Mrs. Cyril Essenmacher, Mrs. Stewart Kramer, Mrs. John Scholtz and Miss Frances Booms, all of Harbor Beach and Mrs. Elmer Ramage, Minden City.   She was born March 29, 1909, in Sand Beach Township, member of a prominent Huron County family.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St Anthony Catholic Church, Helena.   Rev. George W. Flannigan will officiate.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  The Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Wehner home.
 
 
 
 
 

 

Annabelle L. (Booms) Wruble

February 3, 1933 - December 29, 1996

Annabelle L. Wruble, 63, of Eastpointe, died Sunday, at St. John's Hospital of Detroit, after a short illness.

Surviving are her husband, Bernard, of Eastpointe; a son, Thomas Wruble of Grosse Pointe Woods; a daughter, Laurie Rubenstein and her husband, Scott, of Oakland Township; two grandchildren, Austin and Delaney Rubenstein; six sisters, Beatrice Bishop and her husband, Bill, of Memphis, Gertrude Salowitz and her husband, Titus, of Palms, Marie Lang and her husband, Donald, of Palms, Eleanor Wooldridge of Eastpointe, Gladys Wrubel and her husband, Ira, of Harbor Beach, Irene Lemanski and her husband, Richard, of Harbor Beach; three brothers, Eugene Booms and his wife, Shirley, of Harbor Beach, Vincent Booms and his wife, Bertha, of Harbor Beach, and Angus Booms and his wife, Judy, of Harbor Beach.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bill, in 1956; and two brothers, Melvin and Ralph Booms.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Ignatius Catholic Church of Frieburg. The Rev. Jim Profota of St. Basil Catholic Church of Eastpointe will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be 4:30-9:30 p.m. today, 1-9:30 p.m. Wednesday and from 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home, Ubly.

 

 

Anna A. (Glaza) Youngblood
November 25, 1916February 22, 2006
Anna A.  Youngblood, 89, of Shelby Township, died Wednesday February 22, 2006, at Romeo Nursing Center.   She was born November 25, 1916 in Bay City.  
 
Mrs. Youngblood is survived by her sons, Robert (Carol) Youngblood and Jack (Charlotte) Youngblood; grandchildren Rebecca (Jeff) Woelkers, Robert (Kelly), Joseph (Erin) Terence (Christie), Timothy (Angela) and Steve (Beth) Youngblood, Sharon (Darren) Herd, Sand (Ron) LeBlanc and Stacey (Jason) Hurley; great-grandchildren, Brittney, Rachel, Michael, Peyton, Lucy, Caleb, Molly, Kyle, Tyler, Sarah, Ryan, Victoria, Jeremy and Amanda; and sisters, Alice Rybak, Beatrice Chesney and Stephanie Glaza.   She was predeceased by her husband, John E. Youngblood.  
 
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m.  Friday at St.  John Vianney Church, 54045 Schoenherr Road (between 24 Mile and 25 Mile roads), Shelby Township, with the Rev.  Jerome Michlak officiating.   Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Detroit.  Visitations is 1-9 p.m.  today with a 7 p.m.  rosary recital at Wasik Funeral home, 49150 Schoenherr Road, Shelby Township.  Additional visitation is 10-10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Romeo Nursing Center, 250 Denby St., Romeo.
