Dennis Lemanski

January 28, 1954 – March 29, 2002

Dennis Lemanski, 48, of North Carolina and formerly of Parisville, passed away Friday, March 29, 2002 in Greenville Hospital of South Carolina.  He was born January 28, 1954 in Parisville to the late Alfred and Evelyn (Glaza) Lemanski. He never married.  Dennis was a graduate of the Ubly High School. He received a bachelor's degree in criminology from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. He was a member of the American Legion in North Carolina and member of the Knights of Columbus of North Carolina. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 10.  He was a veteran of the Air Force, serving during Vietnam Conflict. He as a member of the North Carolina National Guard Association, the Air Force Association, the Air Force Sergeants Association and the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States (E.A.N.G.U.S.) He was active in the Air National Guard in Baden, North Carolina. He was a member of the St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church of Statesville, North Carolina.  

Dennis is survived by his one brother, Ronald Lemanski and his wife, Linda, of Mauldin, South Carolina; four sisters, Mary Ann Wrubel and her husband, Kenneth, of Minden City, Arlene Schultz and her husband, Edward, of Otisville, Rita Osentoski and her husband, Jim, of Ubly, Lorraine Barnes and her husband, James "Butch", of Imlay City; step-father, George Lemanski of Bad Axe; many nieces and nephews; two aunts, Theresa Glaza and Agnes White; two uncles Elmer Glaza and Art Lemanski.  

Funeral mass for Dennis will take place at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2002, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Parisville. The Rev. Steve Gavit, pastor of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Ruth will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery with graveside military honors by the Ubly Veterans Organization.  There will be a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly.  Visitation will be from 1 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Fabian S. Lemanski

September 4, 1938 – November 4, 2003

Fabian S. Lemanski, 89, a lifelong resident of Harbor Beach, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, November 4, 2003, at Courtney Manor of Bad Axe.  He was a resident there for nine months.   Fabian was born May 10, 1914 in Harbor Beach, son of Frank and Agnes (Pawlowski) Lemanski.  He and Leona Peyerk were married September 4, 1938, at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Rapson.  They lived on North Finkle Road after they were married.  They purchased their farm in 1942 in Sigel Township and have lived there ever since.   Fabian was a dairy and crop farmer his entire life.  He was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach and a school board member for Cooper School.  He was also a member of the Michigan Milk Producers Association. When he was 21, he traveled to the Dizzy Dean Baseball Camp in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He tried out for the Detroit Tigers as a pitcher.  Because he developed a sore pitching arm, that career never materialized.  He played baseball for many years for the Halfway Baseball Club Team as a pitcher, catcher and first baseman.   Fabian loved his family. He loved baseball, Polish and country music, and playing cards, especially euchre.   

Fabian is survived by his wife of 65 years, Leona, of Harbor Beach; four daughters, Virginia Gentner and her husband, Richard, of Royal Oak, Shirley Guza, of Ubly, Marjorie Booms and her husband, Dan, of Harbor Beach, Betty Durr and her husband, Carl, of Bad Axe; one son, Randy Lemanski and his wife, Sue, of Harbor Beach; 23 grandchildren, Carol (Tom) Septer, Jayme (Tom) Halter, Perry (Karen) Gentner, Jeff (Jeanne) Gentner, Steve (Sandi) Guza, Mary Jo (Larry) Roggenbuck, Dan (Paula) Guza, Deb (Matt) Knarian, Terry (Jean) Guza, Jeanne (Andy) Guza, Jr., Sally Hazel, Gary (Terra) Booms, Scott (Shelly) Booms, Rick Booms, Sandy Booms, Michael Lemanski, Jodi (Kevin) Holdwick, Jason Lemanski, Russell "Rusty" Lemanski, Ryan Lemanski, Robin, Kelly, and Brandon Durr; and 44 great-grandchildren.   Fabian was preceded in death by one grandson, Dan Booms, Jr.; his son-in-law, Cletus Guza; his parents; nine brothers, Joseph, Ed, Henry, Ira, Leo, Cass, Bill, Ernest and a twin brother Syvarian; four sisters, Irene Ulfig, Anastasia Gentner, Frances Lemanski and Bertha Artman.   

A celebration of Fabian's life service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2003, at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach. Father Gerald Kukla, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.   Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. today, from 2 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, and from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. on Friday. 

 

 

 

 

Frank J. Lemanski

September 19, 1938 – December 29, 2007

Frank J. Lemanski, 69, of Ubly and formerly of Harbor Beach, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe.  Born in Harbor Beach on September 19, 1938, he was the son of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Glaza) Lemanski.  Frank enjoyed hunting and fishing and was especially fond of John Deere tractors.  He attended St. John Catholic Church in Ubly.

Surviving are his children: Gerald Lemanski and his wife, Patty, of Apolla Beach, Florida, Larry Lemanski and his wife, Donna, of Deltona, Florida, Jimmy Lemanski of Florida, Mark Lemanski and his wife, Christie, of Apopka, Florida, Cathy Lemanski of Tampa, Florida, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Lemanski and his wife, Irene, of Harbor Beach, and Clarence Lemanski of Sterling Heights; and a sister, Mary Ann Kelp and her husband, Dave, of Coldwater; and a sister-in-law, Janet Lemanski of Harbor Beach.  Frank was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stacey; and a brother, Raymond Lemanski.

Funeral mass was Monday, December 31, 2007 at 11 a.m. in St. John Catholic Church of Ubly with Fr. Joe Griffin officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Church Cemetery, Parisville. Visitation was Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach, and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

George John Lemanski

February 1, 1918 – January 28, 2007

George John Lemanski, 88, of Bad Axe, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2007, at Courtney Manor of Bad Axe.   George was born February 1, 1918 in Rapson to the late Ignatz and Anna (Kucharczyk) Lemanski. He married Evelyn (nee’ Glaza) Lemanski  on November 25, 1972 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville.  She preceded him in death on April 17, 1981.   George was a 1933 graduate of the Lincoln Country School in Rapson.  He farmed for most of his life with his family. George farmed in the Rapson and Kinde area.  He also farmed in Lincoln Township until 1994 when he moved to Bad Axe. George was employed at Active (Tower) Industries for 13 years before retiring in 1983.  He was a former parishioner at St. Mary's in Dwight and St. Joseph's in Rapson.  He was a parishioner at Sacred Heart in Bad Axe for the last ten years. George enjoyed playing cards, tending to his home and yard and spending time with his family.   

He is survived by his step-daughters, MaryAnn Wrubel and her husband, Kenneth, of Parisville, Rita Osentoski and her husband, James, of Ubly, Lorraine Barnes and her husband, James, of Imlay City; one stepson, Ronald Lemanski and his wife, Linda, of Mauldin, South Carolina; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; nephews, Steve Majeski and his wife, Gloria, Ernie Majeski and his wife, Audrey, Elmer Majeski and his friend, Dorothy, Tony Majeski an his wife, Pat, Leonard Majeski and his wife, Dorothy, Harold Majeski and his wife, Mary Ellen; one niece, Rita Champagne and her husband, Lee; several great nieces and nephews; and caregiver, Linda English.   George was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Lee Lemanski; two sisters, Connie Majeski and Sophia Respondek; one stepson, Dennis Lemanski; one stepdaughter, Arlene Schultz; two step-grandsons, Marvin Wrubel and Kevin Osentoski; one nephew, Lawrence (Betty) Respondek; and two nieces, Helen (Edward) Tono and Irene (Sylvester) Watchowski.   

The Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2007, at Scared Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. The Rev. John Weis, of Holy Family Church in Sebewaing, will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Rapson in the spring.   Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church only.   Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Helen Catherine (Block) Lemanski

March 9, 1904 –February 21, 2000

Helen Catherine Lemanski, 95, of Port Huron and formerly of Minden City, died Monday evening February 21, 2000, at Port Huron Hospital Marwood Manor Rehabilitation in Port Huron.   She was born on March 9, 1904, in Minden City, the daughter of the late Wendel and Helen (Heilig) Block.   She married Adolph L.  Lemanski on May 5, 1931, in Ruth.  He preceded her in death on September 19, 1955.    She attended Kelly Country School.   She was a housewife, enjoyed baking, cooking, needlework and card playing.  She was a member of the Port Huron Senior Citizens.  She was a former member of St.  Patrick Catholic Church in Palms and a 30-year member of the St.  Patrick Christian Mothers.  She was also a former parishioner at St.  Joseph Catholic Church in Port Huron and a member of St.  Joseph Christian Mothers.   She was a parishioner at St.  Christopher in Marysville, for 30 years.    

She is survived by three daughters: Myrtle Lautner and her husband, Roman, of Port Huron; Edna Allen and her husband, Leo, of Sterling Heights and Ardith Hayes and her husband, Joseph, of Port Huron; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Herman Block and his wife, Sylvia, of Minden City.    She was preceded in death by one infant son, Russell Lemanski; one sister, Emma Guitar; and three brothers: Raymond, Henry and William Block.    

Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m.  Friday, February 25, 2000, at St.  Patrick Catholic Church in Palms.   The Rev.  Arthur Baranowski, pastor of St.  Christopher Catholic Church of Marysville, will officiate.   Burial will be in St.  Patrick's Cemetery.    Visitation is from 1:30 p.m.  to 9:30 p.m.  Thursday and 8:30 a.m.  to 10 a.m.  Friday at the Smigielski Funeral Home in Minden City.

Leo Lemanski

November 22, 1911-September 24,  2002

Mr.  Leo Lemanski, 90, of Ubly passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2002, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe after a long illness.  Leo was born on November 22, 1911, in Minden City to the late Peter and Susan (Sofka) Lemanski.  He married Stella Booms on November 19, 1940, at Ss.  Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ruth.  Leo worked for the Minden City Elevator for many years before retiring in 1960.  He hauled milk and farmed for many years.  He was a lifelong parishioner at St.  Mary Catholic Church of Parisville.  

Leo is survived by his wife, Stella, of Ubly; two sons, Leo Lemanski and his wife, Shirley, of Ortonville and George Lemanski and his wife, Edna, of Ubly; two daughters, Mary Volmering and her husband, Marvin, of Ruth and Rose Belleville and her husband, Larry, of Fife Lake; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Agnes Abraham and her husband, August, of Minden City; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Floyd O'Parka of Ubly, Lucille Niemie of Detroit, Lauretta Guza of Harbor Beach, Lavern and Lucille Booms of Beaverton, Jerome Booms of Ruth, Harold and Clara Booms of Madison Heights, Leona and Kenneth Mausolf of Harbor Beach, Leo and Ruth Ann Booms of Warren, Irvin and Marlene Booms of Warren and Marlene and Marvin Mausolf of Harbor Beach.  Leo was preceded in death by two grandsons; one granddaughter; two brothers, Stanley and Adolph Lemanski; two sisters, Clara Block and Lucy O'Parka.    

The funeral mass for Leo Lemanski will be at 10 a.m.  on Friday, September  27, 2002, at St.  Mary Catholic Church in Parisville.  The Rev.  Andrzej Boroch, pastor will officiate.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.    Visitation is from 1 to 9:30 p.m.  today and from 8 to 9 a.m.  Friday at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly.

Raymond Alexander Lemanski

June 29, 1942 – November 10, 2005

Raymond Alexander Lemanski, 63, devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, was involved in an accident at his residence in Harbor Beach and unexpectedly passed away Thursday, November 10, 2005.   He was born June 29, 1942 in Harbor Beach, the son of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Glaza) Lemanski. Ray married Janet Helen Essenmacher on May 30, 1964 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Parisville.   Raymond was a graduate of the Filmore Country School and attended Harbor Beach High School. Ray co-owned a dairy operation with his brother, Richard, retiring after 30 years. They were former members of the Michigan Milk Producers Association. He also worked for 43 years at Tower Automotive, formerly Active Industries, as a hi-lo operator. Raymond was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed Euchre with family and friends and was known for his integrity and ingenuity in repairing all types of mechanical devices for friends and neighbors. He was lovingly known as Mr. Fix-It. He was extremely giving to everyone of his time and talent. Ray took pleasure in providing for the college education of his five children.   

Raymond is survived by his wife, Janet, of Harbor Beach; two daughters, Brenda Musacchio and her husband, James, of Lawton, New York, and Wendy Stokan and her husband, Richard, of Rochester Hills; and three 

sons, Timothy Lemanski, of Waterford, Christopher Lemanski and his wife, Tracy, of Auburn, and Eric Lemanski, of Bay City; six grandchildren, Jasmine and Nicholas Stokan, Alexandria, Jonathon and Collin Lemanski, and Andrew Musacchio; three brothers, Richard Lemanski and his wife, Irene, of Harbor Beach, Clarence Lemanski, of Sterling Heights, and Frank Lemanski, of Ubly; one sister, Mary Ann Kelp and her 

husband, David, of Coldwater.   

A funeral mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 14, 2005, in St. Mary Catholic Church of Parisville. The Rev. Andrzej Boroch, pastor, will officiate. Cremation will take place at Sunset Valley Crematory of Bay City.   Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 7:30 tonight at the funeral home.   Memorials may be made to St. Mary Parish.
