The New Barn

The New Barn - Under Construction

George Allen (in red shirt) is preparing to drive a wooden peg into the framing of the side of the barn. The peg is held by Bill Brown, who also devoted much work to the project.

The barn was begun during the summer of 1999 to store and display items too large or inappropriate to the Merrill house or the Schoolhouse. Capt. George Allen acted as general contractor. The slab was poured by David Webb, and Kim Pettie, George Allen, Ted Simmons and others developed the plans. Many volunteers worked on the construction of the building which is now complete.

When a photo of the completed barn is available, it will be posted to this web site.
