Mrs. Sarah Baker, one of Bingham's most beloved women, died Thursday after a short illness from bronchial pneumonia. Mrs. Baker, or Sae, as her many friends called her, was the widow of the late Amon Baker and was 69 years old.

She was the daughter of Michael and Abigail Burns Perry, and was born in Embden, one of 12 children, six of whom are now living. Mrs. Dora Hilton and Mrs. James Murphy of Embden, Mellen Berry of N. Anson, Bert of Embden, Mrs. Viola Williams of N. Anson and Lovell Berry of Embden. On the 18th of October, 1879, she was married to Amon Baker who died in 1919.

Mr. and Mrs. Baker were the first operatives of the Somerset Farmers' Telephone, the office being in their home for many years. With the exception of only one year Mrs. Baker has been an operator ever since and very faithful in the performance of her duties. Her sister, Mrs. Hilton, has been with Mrs. Baker, who with her family will sadly mourn their loss.

B.F. Parker was in charge of the funeral services held Sunday afternoon at the home with Rev. Arthur Macdougal officiating. Many floral tributes gave testimony of loving regard of relatives and friends. Burial was in Bingham village cemetery.
