I am interested in finding out more about Mariaville. Is there more information somewhere? I have an Abrahm Morrison who married a Salomi Gott. I can't connect Abrahm to his father. I did find a paper on Mariaville in the Maine Historical Society that "seems" to be the correct Morrison line. My Abrahm married ...(or at least I have the record of intention dated Julu 2, 1856 Tremont, ME) Salome Gott b3Sept 1807. Salome was the daughter of Capt. William Gott and Susanna Milliken. Salome appeared to raise their only son Erastes alone....and took back her nmaiden name. (Or else the marriage never went through.) Do you know where I can get more information about this line? Or Mariaville. Thank you. Gita Dyer

GERRISH I am looking for any living descendants of my third great-grandfather Andrew GERRISH 1774-abt 1834 married (second) to Rhoda Coombs with three children by Coombs: Rosanna Gerrish (b. 1828), Benjamin Franklin Gerrish (b. 1829), and Charlotte Gerrish (b. 1832). (I come down from Captain Andrew and his first wife, Ruth Ellis 1779-1815.) I am also trying to determine the date and the outcome of the following closely related legal proceedings against a John Cole: "SUPPOSED MURDER. Mr. Andrew Gerrish ofGouldsborough, Me. (trader) went to Frenchman's bay on the 28th ult. in company with a man named John Cole who had lived with him several months. On the 3lst the boat returned to Gouldsborough, with Cole only on board. After landing he was asked where Mr. Gerrish was - - - after some hesitation Cole said he had landed him on Grindstone point, at the entrance of the harbor. Apprehension being entertained for the safety of Mr. Gerrish, from his continued absence, search was made, and no trace of him was found. Cole has been arrested, on suspicion of murder, examined before a Justice, and bound over for his appearance at the next Supreme Court, to be holden at Castine on the lst of July. It is said marks of blood were discovered on Cole's jacket, on his return from Frenchman's bay, and that a lock of grey hair was found in the boat. Mr. Gerrish was a native of Kittery, Me. and 57 years of age. [Salem Register.]" This article was reprinted from the Salem Register possibly in a Maine paper, but my clipping does not say where or when. Family notes say Captain Andrew was 60 when he died which would make the year 1834, not 1831 as the article suggests. Andrew Gerrish was a descendant of Colonel William Pepperrell (1646-1734) and his wife Margery Bray of Kittery Point, and of Captain William Gerrish (1620-1687) and his wife Joanna Lowell of Newbury. Richard Falknor in Port Republic, Maryland
