There are 45 burial locations with burial markers in the town of Sebago. There are records of two cemeteries which were moved to other towns. One, off the Swamp Rd. in Hillside, was moved to South Bridgton and another, called the Martin Yard on Long Hill Road, was moved to Steep Falls. Records tell of a cemetery on Tiger Hill where a Revolutionary soldier is buried along with eighteen of his kindred, and there is not a stone to mark even one grave. Records tell also of a cemetery on the Orchard Rd. There is a well-marked enclosed area, but no stones are visible. It has been reported that there was a yard at the end of Taylor Rd in Hillside, and another in E. Sebago, off Old Rt. 114.
In 1969 Beverly Harmon recorded all of the information that was available. We believe there are many other grave sites which are unknown, so information given here is as accurate as possible. Some of the smaller cemeteries, which can contain as few as one stone, have been grouped together on one page to conserve space.
This page is dedicated to the memory of Joyce Douglas Viles, who with her sister June Allen, visited all of the burial locations in the town in 1998/99 and updated the records to help make these lists possible. The information was then compiled into a book and typed by Anne Brown.
