NORTH posted by Gottlieb John Fleig on Wednesday, February 6, 2002

The NORTH brothers (Edward, John, and Nathaniel) sailed from England to Bermuda. John or Edward later settled in what then was Somerset County's town of Waltersville, (which is currently Wicomico county's town of Bivalve) in the late 1700s or early 1800s. Edwards and Johns seem to be the heads of the North families throughout the years in Maryland. They had a lot of children, slaves and land along the Nanticoke River in that area. One (John) married a woman from Holland Island and later her son, Josephus North, buried her there as she requested. If you want to have some fun, search on the internet for priveteer/pirate Nathaniel North and see the type of stock (his brother) that settled this seafaring part of Maryland. Holland Island is another interesting web site. Any information about the Norths will be greatly appreciated

CHANEY, DRISCOLL, KELLEY, MORRIS posted by Budd Warren on Saturday, February 23, 2002

Searching for information about the family of Howard Y. and Ida (MORRIS) KELLEY. Howard Y. Kelley (1904-1966) was the son of Daniel or Howard and Amanda (DRISCOLL ?) KELLEY. Ida E. MORRIS KELLEY (1906-1974) was the daughter of Jason and Annie (CHANEY ?) MORRIS. Howard and Ida are both buried in the Hammond Cemetery as well as others of the MORRIS family. The KELLEYs are buried in the Shavox Church cemetery. If there is anyone else familiar with these families, I am trying to find information about Howard and Ida's parents and grandparents. Thank you.
