ASHER, MARSH, RAPS posted by Judith Adam on Tuesday, January 16, 2001

I am looking for a family property on Nanticoke Road, and don't know if that is located in Wicomico County. The property would have been owned in the 1930s by the family names of ASHER, or RAPS, or MARSH. Do I have the right county? Is it possible to check property location and ownership? Thanks for your help.

GRINNELL posted by Hartley West on Monday, February 19, 2001

I am looking for a connection From the Grinnalds of Accomack Co. Virginia to Wicomico County. I know that the family changed it's name in the mid 1700's to GRINNELL. I am trying to trace my family roots and my Grinnells are from Mathews County, Virginia. I have been told that the Grinnells in Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina originated from one Richard Grinnalds from England who came to Accomack County, Virginia in 1700. I was wondering if anyone may have information that may lead me to one William Grinnell born about 1750-1765. It is said that he was in Mathews County, by 1810.

HEARN posted by Alice Whitkaer on Wednesday, February 28, 2001

I am researching the history of the HEARN family of Wicomico County, Maryland or Sussex County, Delaware. The Hearns lived in Delmar which is a town that is split down the middle. Therefore, it could be Maryland or Delaware. My great uncle was William Handy HEARN, Jr., born in 1888, and his father was William Handy HEARN Sr. The Hearns I am researching are of African descent. I understand the town of Delmar was established by William HEARN, a caucasian. Even a history of the town would be interesting to know.
