EDGE, LAWS, PONDER posted by Mary Ellen Wexler on Monday, March 27, 2006

Trying to verify the marriage of Joshua EDGE and Elizabeth PONDER ca. 1740s. Does anyone have a source for this marriage? Also trying to verify the marriage of Joshua's son, Jeremiah to the daughter of George LAW/LAWS. Need a source and date for this marriage. We find George Law both in Somerset Co., MD and in Orange Co., NC, where he apparently died. Can anyone establish a connection between George Law(s) and Jeremiah Edge?

ADAMS posted by Carol Smith on Wednesday, April 19, 2006

Looking for lineage of Olivia ADAMS, my great-grandmother, who lived on Deal Island in Somerset County. She would have died between 1940-1950. I think that she was divorced, and I'm looking for her husbands name so I can continue search. She was buried in Cambridge, MD, and it is possible that there are other relatives there.

WEBSTER posted by Carol Smith on Wednesday, April 19, 2006

Looking for the lineage of Leon WEBSTER, born and lived on Wenona in Somerset County. He died in 1962. His wife was Julia Webster, who died in 1977, and both buried at St. Pauls in Wenona. We think that Julia's line goes to Joshua Thomas, if anyone has any lineage work from Joshua Thomas down.

posted by Mary A. Langdon on Thursday, April 20, 2006

I am searching for the surname LANKFORD from Somerset County, Princess Anne, Maryland. I am looking for the date of death and bruial of W. Hiram or Hiram W. LANKFORD, born there in the 1850s. I am also interested in what religious denomination they were, and the name and location of their church. Hiram was a justice of the peace, and since I cannot find him in the 1930 census, I am assuming that he died somewhere from 1920 - 1930.

Is there any more information about Edward HILLMAN, possibly born around 1660 - 1690? He has a son named John HILLMAN who was born in 1708. I am currently working on Hillman genealogy. I learned that they were originated from Somerset County, Maryland. Any information found would be greatly appreciated and will be helpful to fill in some gaps in my family tree.

TILGHMAN posted by Mary Beth Robinson on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

I am the great niece of Elizabeth Maguire TILGHMAN who, along with her husband, owned Almodington during the 1950s. I am interested in finding out as precisely as possible the time period during which they owned the estate. I know I visited there as a small child, but have little recollection. My older cousins, however, vividly remember details of their visits there and we're all interested in learning how long the family owned the estate and any other interesting historical notes during that period.

Looking for infomation about Virginia WALLACE, born July 26, 1871 in the Crisfield area. She married Henry Hoff in Reisterstown, MD in 1890. Virginia had a daughter in 1891. Following a divorce, her daughter was raised by another family in Baltimore. Virginia had a younger brother who was drowned.

I'm looking for the parents of Henry C. CAREY, born about 1850, who married Emily L. DENSON December 15, 1868. Emily L. is the daughter of Levin DENSON and Lydia TOWNSEND. Henry and Emily had several children - George, Laura (my ggrandmother), Dorah, Bert and Robert. I believe Bert married a Tawe. Any help would be appreciated.
