The Pruitts were also in Lawson's District, but I can't determine the ancestors above John. Does anyone have information on either of these lines?

DURHAM posted by Joseph Hermit Durham, Jr. on Monday, May 27, 2002

I am looking for any information on John Thomas DURHAM . He was born in 1843 in Baltimore, MD to Thomas & Eliza Durham. I think that, prior to that, there was a different spelling . . . I'm not sure. He joined the Army in 1861 in Somerset County and was discharged in 1865. He was wounded twice. It is possible that he married there and had a family, became divorced, moved to Hampton, VA and married Martha Duncan Ferguson in Appomattox, VA in 1896. They had two sons, John Thomas Durham, Jr. and Joseph Hermit Durham. Any information on his father's origin and any of his first family would be greatly appreciated.
