The Charles County Genealogical Society is a non-profit organization located in Charles County Maryland. Our purpose is to promote the collection, preservation and dissemination of genealogical information. We also hope to educate and assist those interested in researching their ancestry. Membership is open to anyone interested in genealogy.

We meet at 7:00PM, on the third Thursday of each month, except December. Our meetings are held at the LDS Family History Center, 4560 Padgett Road, White Plains, Charles County, Maryland.

Inclement weather Policy- If the evening activities of the Charles County Schools are canceled due to inclement weather, the Genealogical Society will cancel it's meeting as well.

For those interested in doing research at the LDS Family History Center at White Plains the days and hours of operation are listed below.

Monday ***CLOSED***

Tuesday thru Friday mornings 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

Tuesday & Wednesday
evenings 7:00 to 9:00 pm

3rd Thursday of the month evening 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Directions from I-95 (Capitol Beltway) & MD-5 (Branch Ave)-
From I-95 travel south on MD-5 approximately 12 miles where you will come to the junction of MD-5 and US-301. Stay straight traveling another 6 miles through Waldorf to the intersection of US-301 & MD-227. Turn right onto MD-227 and go one half mile where you will turn right onto Padgett Road. The LDS Family History Center will be just ahead on the right. There is an entrance at the rear with plenty of parking.
