Yes, dear mother, thou art gone,
Thy aching breast is still;
Thy Father called thee to thy home,
Thy cup of joy to fill.

'Tis hard to give our mother up,
But we will be resigned
To Him who is too wise too err,
Too good to be unkind.

Day after day we saw her fade,
And gently pass away;
Yet often in our hearts we prayed
That she might longer stay.

Farewell, farewell, our mother dear,
Life is sad without you here;
Oh, may we meet in Heaven above,
Where all is joy, and peace and love.

SISCONicholasSept 184814 Sept 1848"We very much regret to state that Mr. Nicholas SISCO, a young man aged 22 years, met with an untimely end on Tuesday evening. On Monday evening the young man started out in the company of his brother and two friends for the purpose of gunning a few miles from the city. They spent the day very pleasantly: nothing having transpired to disturb their enjoyment, when two of them toward evening, as they approached the Alms House discharged their leaded pieces at a flock of partridges and, sad to relate, Mr. Sisco, who had left the party and gone into the woods, contrary to the request of his brother, received several slugs with which one of the pieces was loaded, in the breast and throat. He immediately was conveyed to the residence of his sister in Mulberry Street, beyond Chatsworth, where his death ended his suffering at 8 O'Clock in the evening, just two hours after he received the fatal wound. Mr. Sisco was engaged with Mr. Gaddes, house carpenter, and was universally esteemed by his friends for the sunny virtue and ennobling traits of his character. An inquest was held on the body by Coroner Essender, who
rendered a verdict in accordance with the above facts."

Farewell, beloved one! Thou art gone
Where angels tune their harps of gold.
To praise thy God in Heaven.
Beautiful, joyous child! We weep
O'er thee the sorrowing tear,

With all who saw thee here;
But, while we mourn that thou art gone,
Joy to our hearts is given,
To know that angels loved thee too,

STEWARTSarah D.7 Jan 187310 Jan 1873STEWART - On the 7th of January, 1873, SARAH D., beloved wife of James M. Stewart, aged 29 years and 3 months. Come and kiss your mother, darling,
Lay your head upon my breast,
Put your little arms around me,
Say good night and go to rest.
Softer lips than mine will kiss you,
But my darling you will never
Find the love that leaves you now.

Husband, take my little darlings,
Put them tenderly to bed;
Love them, husband, when they waken,
I will be among the dead.

Soon this life-dream will be ended,
Soon this struggling breath willcease;
Farewell, husband, lead my darlings
In the ways of truth and peace.

Husband, when the violets open,
When the trees in beauty wave,
Take my little ones and lead them
Gently to their mother's grave.

Tell them, while the birds are singing
And the blossoms deck the sod,
That their mother's soul is resting
In the paradise of God.

STIVERMartha14May/Jun 1855May or Jun 1855On the 14th instant, Martha , aged 14 years and 23 days, daughter of Henry and Sarah Stiver. Thou are gone to the grave-we no longer behold thee nor tread the rough paths of the world by thy side. But the wide arms of mercy are spread to enfold thee. And sinners may hope since the sinless has died. Thou art gone to the grave and its mansions forsake, Perhaps thy tired spirit in doubt lingered long, But the sunshine of heaven beamed bright on waking, And the song which thou hearist was the seraphim song. Thou are gone to the grave, but €twere wrong to plore thee. When God was thy ransom, thy guardian and guide. He gave thee and took thee, and soon will restore thee. Where death hath no sting since the Saviour hath died. The friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on this (Tuesday) afternoon at three o'clock from the residence of her parents No 64 Oregon Street. Baltimore Sun
