72. John SLEDGE was born about 1730 in Surry County, Va. He died Apr/Oct 1798 in Hancock County, Ga.. After living in Virginia and Halifax Co. NC, John and Amy moved their family to the Shoulderbone Creek area of Hancock Co. GA. Apparently Amy died prior to April of 1798. John signed his will April 14 1798. The will was probated on Oct. 11 1798 in Hancock Co. GA.

73. Amey CHAPPELL was born on 19 May 1755 in Albermarle Parish, Surry Co. Va. Albemarle Parish Register. Amy, daughter of James Chappell Jr. and wife Eliza. b. May 19, christened July 16, 1755.(1758). Godparents Wm. Briggs, Rebecca Briggs, Sarah Peebles.

Children were:

i. MARTHA SLEDGE. Mar: James Adams Jr.
ii. AMEY SLEDGE was born about 1785. Mar: Jethro Jackson
iii. JOHN SLEDGE. probably a son although not mentioned in will.
