Churches and Religious History
The Easthampton First Congregational Church was gathered Nov. 17, 1785; the parish was organized in 1835. There are no surviving records before 1853.
Payson Congregational Church was organized in 1852, and merged back with the First Parish church in 1918 to form the Easthampton Congregational Church.

Historic Sties & Societies
Historical Society, 7 Holyoke Street (P.O. Box 727), Easthampton, MA 01027
The Society was formed in 1972 with 44 charter members. Their present home, the Rapalus House, was donated in 1976 with the Fred A. Worm Memorial Room added in 1992. In these 13 rooms, the society preserves Easthampton's past for the future. They care for scrapbooks, photographs, paintings, pianos, porcelain, clothing and much more. The house is open on Mondays between 2-4 PM, with open house Sunday afternoons in the summer. Membership dues are just $5 and the men and women of the Society always welcome new friends.
