Madeira Exiles: Kyle & Darah NUNES

They truly are what I do this for. For these purposes, maybe they should be known as:

Kyle and Darah Nunes, 3rd great grandchildren of Carolina Joana (DA ENCARNACAO) DA SILVA,

who I believe I have found on a ships record as:
Passenger #: 3, Name: Caroline Silva, Age: 20, Sex: F, Occupation: Seamstress From: Madeira, To: U.S., Note: Cabin, Date: 1854 Apr 27, Ship: Nacoochie, Trip Note: Mad-NY.

There hasn't been much progress with this end of things lately. But I do have a request in with Sr. Mello to find baptisms of siblings so that I might be able to match up with ships records of known exiles. I seem to be doing things backwards compared to most of the people in the group. Most (if not all) of the others, have the connection back to the group of exiled Madeirans, but have not been able to trace back onto the island. In my case, we have the story that Carolina was in Illinois for sometime, but returned to Madeira, where she married, had children and lived out her life. I still need to confirm the very thing that everyone else has almost automatically. That they were part of that group somehow that ended up in Illinois. It's funny to think of it that way really, because as far as I am concerned, I know when the family came to the US (for good), April 1, 1906. It's just odd to think that someone, anyone further back was here but went back. We ended up here anyway though! Maybe if I am able to locate some of the baptisms of Carolina's siblings, I will be able to make connections with others in the group.
