GEORGE FOWLER DENT
George Fowler DENT m. Emily Mary Danvers SNAITH in Jamaica. In 1889, he was
the executor of the will of George Burrell SNAITH of Jamaica, his
father-in-law. His parents may have been an Admiral DENT, of the Royal
British Fleet and a Lady HASTINGS. Either a male child or a male grandchild
married into the SHILLINGFORD family of Jamaica. This union produced a
Hastings DENT who in 1966 visited Jamaica. Sketchy information at
best....Any suggestions on how to proceed? Anyone else researching DENT in

Waters DENT. The Thomas DENT b. 1787 came to the US in May 1810 and

(CHUNN?). John was in Panola Co.,Tx. in 1860. I beleive his mother was Mary M. DENT who lived in Chambers Co.,Ala. around 1839. Two of John's children may be Sarah J. DENT who is in the 1850 C.Meriweather Co.,Ga. and Richard Hezikah DENT who is in the 1850 C. Wilkes Co.,Ga. Richard DENT is my g-g-g-grandfather. He died at Milam,Sabine,Tx. in 06Nov.1902. He also had a

THOMAS and JAMES DENT
In looking for my Dents near Pea Ridge I came across a Thomas Dent in the
uppermost northwest five miles corner of Arkansas just under Southwest City
MO. He is by himself with no other Dents in the cemetery. My Dents are near
pea Ridge. Do you know anything about this poor soul? I think he was born
about 1815. Also a James E. Dent buried in Walnut Grove Cemetery TX born
1845. Do you know who this might be? 6 miles east of Garrison Nacocoches Co.

WILLIE DENT
Another question. My Elvin Marion Dent , son of John of Grainger Co. TN.,
had a child by the name of Willie by his first wife, a martha or Caroline
Dixon, She died and after the Civil War Elvin went and got the child and
lived with his brother James Dent of Pea Ridge MO/ARK. but in Illinois at the
time. Nothing has everb een mentioned about this Willie Dent in any of our
family info on Elvin Marion. Do you have ay info about a Willie Dent born

LEWIS MANNON DENT
I have had a request from Martin Lyle DENT, living in Texas, that this
querie be put on the list, asking for cousins. Mr. Dent is an 83 year
old fellow, who says his grandfather was Lewis Mannon DENT and his
father was Lewis Thomas DENT possibly born 1863, died 1937. Possibly
in Maryland. Mr. Dent does not have Email. If anyone recognizes any of

DENTS IN AUSTRALIA
Hi all - I just thought I'd post my DENT family interests and say hi from over
here in Perth, Western Australia. I keep watch on this list and look at
the DENT page regularly, but have not yet found a single relative other
than my family and my uncle's family. My Pop came from England to
Australia and I've been able to trace the family back a way, but am
really keen to actually find someone from the same line! There's been
no luck yet.
My DENTs are from around Penrith in Cumberland (now Cumbria), England.
Frederick DENT and Florence INNOCENT were married in Penrith and lived
in Edenhall, Cumberland before coming to Australia in 1907 when Pop was
a little boy.
Frederick's parents were Joseph DENT and Isabella SHEPHERD married
1857 in Newton Reigny, Cumberland.
Joseph's parents were John DENT and Mary NICHOLSON married 1814 in
Watermillock, Cumberland.
That's as far as it goes at the moment.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that someone will contact me one day!

I am looking for the ancestors of Lucretia Leland who married Charles
Henry Dent. I believe her brother Luther married Margaret Jane Dent,
who was born in 1832 to Leonard Green Dent and Isabella Chunn Dent.
What other children did Lucretia and Charles Henry have? Who were
parents of Isabella Chunn? Was it Charles Chunn and Jane Tant Bowen?
Were Henry Chunn and Mary Ann parents of Charles Chunn? Mary Ann Chunn

CATHERINE DENT
According to some, Catherine Dent the daughter of Hatch Dent born in
1734 , married Samuel Swann. (some say she was the daughter of John
Dent but this is incorrect according to Trinity Parish Records) They
had a son Charles and a daughter Elizabeth who married Barber. I am
looking for more factual information on this marriage. My ancestor
Samuel Swann had a daughter ELizabeth who married Barber but, I found
no Charles in his Will. He also had a granddaughter named Catherine
Dent Swann. His sons were, Samuel Hatch Swann, Henry Swann, Philip
Swann, Thomas Mercer Swann, Edward Burch Swann and John Swann. I'm
considering that he was the Samuel who married Catherine Dent but

I am writing from Baxter, Iowa. My grandmother on my mother's side was a
Dent. I have information of the family that dates back to 1809 when Samuel
Dent was born in Culpepper County, Virginia. He was Married to Sarah
Hartsock in 1833. If these names are in any of your records I would like

HOWARD MAXWELL DENT
My father, Howard Maxwell Dent, was born 01 JAN 1925 in Abbeville, GA.
His parents (William and Ida Pearl (MULLIS) DENT) died when he was young and he was raised in an orphanage, in Abbeville I presume. He had three brothers and three sisters: James, Charles, Walter, Grace, Ida Pearl and Louise. I know that Charles or James was killed in a truck accident and the other died of a heart attack. My father died in 1991 in Huntington, WV. My father and

My ancestor, John DENT, was in the reocrds of Grainger County, TN as early
