In the Name of God Amen
I William Watkins of the Parrish of Langattock Lingoed in the County of Monmouth Cordwainer being weak in body but of sound mind and memory blessed be God do this Eleventh day of February in the year of our Lord 1836 make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say I give and bequeath to Elizabeth my beloved Wife my cottage house and gardens with all its appurtenances there and to belonging situated in the parish of Langattock Lingoed and County aforesaid and now in my poss[ess]ion also the sum of four hundred and forty pounds of lawful money of Greate Brittan due to me on a bond from the heirs and executors and assigns of the late Thomas Davis Solicter of the Town of Abergavenny in the County aforesaid deceased also Goods and Chattles and Personal Property The whole of the above mentioned Property I bequeath to my beloved Wife during her natural life subject to the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses but if no lawful Issue begotten by me then the above mentioned property at the decease of Elizabeth my beloved Wife shall desend to John Taylor my Cousin of the Parris of Langattock Lingoed in the County aforesaid Yeoman In Witness whereof.I ^the said^ William Watkins have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand in the presence of James Lloyd James Saunders William Smith ————The Mark of x William Watkins ——Witness James Lloyd —— James Saunders —— W[illia]m Smith

This will was proved on the 17th September 1836 by Elizabeth Watkins,
widow of the deceased.
