In the Name of God Amen The Seaven and Twentyth day of October In the Nyne and Twentyth yeare of the Raigne of our soveraigne Lord Charles the second by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King defender of the faith etc. Anno d[omin]i 1677 I James Williams of the Parish of Langattock Llingoid in the County of Monmouth Gent being sick in body but of good and perfect memory Praised be God for the same doe make and ordaine this my present Testament conteyning therein my last Will in manner and forme following That is to say First of all I Com[m]end my Soule into the hands of Almighty God my maker hoping assuredly through the meritts of Christ Jesus to be made Partaker of everlasting life And my Body to be buried in Christian Buryall As for my reall and personall Estate I doe dispose of it as followeth That is to say First of all I doe hereby give devise and bequeath unto and to the use of my yongest sun James Williams and his heirs forever all my messuages houses Barnes buildings Gardens Orchards Lands and Tenements with theire appurten[an]ces whatsoever situat lyeing and being in the parish of Lancillow in the County of Hereford and which I have had and purchased to me and my heirs forever of Elizabeth Powell of Lancillow aforesaid widdow ^and^ William Powell her son and Walter Powell And my will is nevertheless that the Overseers of this my will shall have full powers to sett to farme the premisses soe described as aforesaid at the uttermost value and the rents and profitts thereof to remaine and to be secured and paid to my said son James Williams when he shall accomplish the age of one and twenty yeares and then after the said premisses to be and remaine unto and to the use of my said son James Williams and his heires forever Item I doe hereby devise give and bequeath unto my eldest son Walter Williams and to his heires all the rest and residue of all my Messuages Lands Tenements and hereditaments with theire appurten[a]nces whatsoever situat lying and being as well in the said Parish of Lancillow in the said County of Hereford as also in the Parish of Langattock Llyngoed aforesaid in the said County of Monmouth To have and to hold the said Messuages Lands Tenements and hereditaments with theire appurtenances unto him the said Walter Williams to the only use of him the said Walter Williams and his heires for and towards the maintenance scholing and bringing of the said Walter and my said son James Williams untill that the said James Williams shall accomplish the age of One and Twenty yeares and then after to the use of the said Walter Williams and of his heires forever Item I doe give devise and bequeath unto my said son Walter Williams all my implements of husbandry all my Tables Bedsteds Chests Cupboards and other woodden necessaryes whatsoever in my dwelling house or belonging thereunto Item I doe hereby give devise and bequeath unto my said sonnes Walter Williams and James Williams all and singular the rest and residue of all my Goods household stuff Cattell and Chattells hay Corne and graine whatsoever as well in and at my now dwelling house as also now growing upon any my Lands and also all manner of Provision in my dwelling house to be equally distributed proport[i]oned and devided betweene them both my said sonnes Walter and James Item whereas there are severall sum[m]es of money both rent and other debts due and owing unto me from the persons hereafter ment[i]oned That is to say The sum[m]e of Two and Twenty Pounds being Rent due and owing unto mee from Samuell Griffyth of Lancillow aforesaid in the said County of Hereford and the sum[m]e of Nineteen Pounds being both Rent and debt due and owing unto mee from the aforesaid William Powell of Lancillow aforesaid and the sum[m]e of Six Pounds debt due and owing unto me from Mr. Charles Morgan of Langattock aforesaid being moneyes lent to Mr. Morgans wife I doe therefore hereby give devise and bequeath the said severall sum[m]es together with the sum[m]e of Twenty Pounds of money now remayning in my dwelling house unto my said sonnes Walter Williams and James Williams towards the discharging of my funerall expenses and towards the payment and discharging of the debts and legacyes here= after mentioned That is to say of debt owing unto Charles Price of Grossmont the sum[m]e of Fyve Pounds To Henry Phillipp of Grossmont the sum[m]e of Fyve Pounds unto widdow Price the sum[m]e of Three Pounds and unto my reputed sonn Thomas Williamthe sum[m]e of Twenty Pounds The which I doe hereby devise unto him as a Legacy to be paid unto him when he shall accomplish the age of One and Twenty yeares More of debts due unto one Mary Waters by bond the sum[m]e of Seventeene Pounds More of debts owing to William Thomas sonn of William Thomas deceased The sum[m]e of Fyve Pounds and Tenn Shillings or thereabouts and more owing to Charles Powell the sum[m]e of One pounds and Nyne Shillings and Fower Pence And the Overplus if any be to be equally devided betweene them both the said Walter Williams and James Williams my deare sonnes whome I do nominate and appoint Executors of this my last will and Testament Lastly I doe desire nominate and appoint my loving brother in Law John Hughesof Lanvihangell ^Istern Llewerne^ and William Prichard of Langattock Lyngoedd to be Overseers of this my last Will and Testament to see this my Will in all things punctually performed In witnes whereof I have hereunto putt my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written James Williams Sealed and delyvered in the presence of Wit[nesse]s that these words and Walter Powell in the Eleaventh lyne and the words viz. and William Prichard of Langattock Lingoed in the Six and Fortyth lyne were interlined before the ensealing thereof and then sealed and delyvered in the presence of John Greenhaugh Clerk William Morgan Thomas Powell ^by^ his marke Cirill Hayles by mark, John Hughes with others.

This will was proved at London on the 11th February 1678 by Walter
Williams and James Williams, sons of the deceased.
