In the name of God Amen I John Prichard of the parish of Langattocke Lingoed in the County of Monmouth yeoman being very sicke & weake of body but of sound mind and memory praised bee Almighty God doe make and ordeyne this my Iast Will and Testament in manner and tbrme following (that is to say) First and principally I recomme[n]d my precious and immortall soule into the handes of Almighty God who gave itt mee, hopeing through the meritts and mediation of my Saviour Jesus Christ to obteyne forgivenesse of my sins and to inheritte life everlasting through the mighty power of God. My body I comitt the earth decently to bee buried in Christian manner according to the discrec[i]on of my executrix herein after named. And as touching my worldly estate wherewith itt hath pleased God to blesse me withall I give devise bequeath and dispose as
followeth. Inpri[mi]s my will and mind is that al1 my debts and funerall chardges and expences shalbee first paid and diducted by my executrix here after named. Item I give devise and bequeath unto my sonne John Prichard aIl lmy freehold & copy estates lands tenem[en]ts hereditam[en]ts and p[re]misses w[i]th the appurtenances within the s[ai]d County of Monmouth not aiready otherwise settled. Item I further give bequeath and dispose of my personale estate stocke goodes chattles cattle ready money with all manner of appurtenances as to the p[er]sonall estate unto my deare & Ioveing wife Elizabeth Prichard for her use dureing her naturall life. And after her decease I give devise bequeath & dispose of my said personall estate to my aforesaid sonne John Prichard subject neverthelesse & in trust to the legacyes fotlowing (that is to say) Item I give dispose & bequeath to each of my daughters Elizabethe Susan & Mary Prichard the sum[m]e of twenty pounds of lawfull lnoney of Great Brittaine a peice to bee paid them the said Elizabeth, Susan & Mary Prichard as they shall arrive to their each & every & either of their ages of one & twenty yeares next & imediately after the death or decease of my said loveing wife Elizabeth Prichard. And also w[i]thin five yeares after my said sonne John Prichard shall arrive to the said of age one twenty yeares. In case the said Elizabeth my wife shall happen to dye w'hin the said tyme or before my said sonne John Prichard shall attaine to his said age of one & twenty yeares But in case that every any or either of my said daughters Elizabeth, Susan, & Mary Prichard shall happen to dye before they or every or either of them shall attaine to the said age of one & twenty yeares That then the person or persons so dyeing the money or share so belonging to her or them soe dyeing I give devise & bequeath unto my said sonne John Prichard to his owne proper use & behoofe. And whereas my said Ioveing wife Elizabeth Prichard is now at the ensealing hereof quicke with child and out of the love I beare to my loveing wife I give devise & bequeath unto the child or children that shall bee borne of her body wether it bee males or females the sum[m]e of twenty pounds if it be 2 children to bee equally divided betweene them or if but one child then I doe give the said sum[m]e of twenty pounds to that one child that shall bee soe borne of the body of my said wife Elizabeth to bee paid att the age of one and yeares After such death of the said Elizabeth my wife then the said sume of twenty pounds of Iawfull money of Great Brittaine to bee paid w[i]thin five yeares to such child or children that shalbee borne of her body as she is now quicke w[i]thall After the said John Prichard my sonne shall attaine to such age of one & twenty yeares as aforesaid Provided alwaies and my will mind and intention further is that in case my said wife Elizabeth should happen to intermarry w[i]th any person after my decease That then I doe desire my two Ioveing brothers James Prichard of the parish of Langattocke Lingoed in the s[ai]d County of Monmouth yeoman & William Prichard stone cutter of the town of Gloster? in the County of Gloucester imediately after such intermarriage ofmy said wife Elizabeth to enter upon the said stocke moneys & personall estate & to seize & deteyne the same from the said Elizabeth my wife & dispose of it to the sev[era]ll uses aforementioned. And the remainder to my son John Prichard in case it does happen to fall. Item I doe hereby desire my two brothers James & William Prichard to bee overseers of this my last Will & Testament to see it punctually & duely performed. And I doe hereby make & ordeyne of this my last Will & Testament my Ioveing wife full & sole executrix. And I doe hereby utterly disallow revoke & annull all & every other former Testam[en]ts Wills & bequests & legaceyes by mee before this tyme named willed & bequeathed ratifyeing & confirmeing this & noe other to bee my last Will & Testament. In witnesse whereof I have hereunto putt my hand and seale to these two sheets of paper this seaventh day of July in the yeare of our Lord God 1713.
