Eljiah Tracy/Tracey according to accounts of his decsendants was born in 1786 in Maryland and a Blacksmith by trade. He migrated to Fayette Co., PA, where a number of Tracey families with Baltimore County roots are found from 1810 to 1830. Therefore, it is thought he is probably of the lineage of Teague Tracey and Mary Janes. The family moved on to Washington Co., OH and then the Crawford Co., IL and Jackson Co. IA where descendants are found into the 1900s.
