Home Surname List Name Index Sources | John LYDICK and Elizabeth PEDDICORDAnother piece of a family based on a death certificate is that of Jonathan Lydick, His death certificate states his parents were John Lydic and Elizabeth Peddacord. On the find-a-grave web site he is lised as being born in Chambersburg, Franklin Co., PA. I can not find any trace of him in the 1850 and 1860 (or 1870 for that matter) censuses. There are a number of John Lydick families around, even in 1850 in Ohio and Pennsylvania, but none seem to match including the family of a Jonathan Lydick who moved from PA to Ohio in the 1830s and lived in Hardin Co., OH, the same general area as our subject, but the census records do not indcate he had a son Jonathan. The name Jonathan Lydick goes back to an early settler in Western Pennsylvania who built a fort on the Western frontier in the mid 1700s.
