Russell Cemetery is located in Section 6, Township 7 North, Range 9 West, approximately ten miles south of Robeline, Natchitoches Parish, LA on the Russell Cemetery Road. The cemetery is fenced and contains only two marked graves.It is located in a sparsely settled, forested area near the Natchitoches and Sabine Parish line.
The cemetery can be reached by traveling northwest from Provencal on Hwy 120 about five miles, turning left onto Parish Road 750 and traveling southwest for another five miles (a very winding road), then turning left onto an unmarked road (about one mile before reaching the intersection of Parish Road 639); travel down this road for about one-fourth mile to the Russell Cemetery Road. The cemetery is located about one-fourth mile further on.
An alternate route would be to turn south on Parish Road 640 about two miles west of Robeline, turn right onto Parish Road 639, travel west about one mile to Parish Road 750 and on south about two miles to the unmarked road on the right. These are all secondary roads, used mainly for timber harvesting purposes, and are often in poor condition.
