The August 2007 meeting of the Lafayette Genealogical Society was held in the Meeting Room of the Main Branch of the Lafayette Public Library on August 16, 2007 at 6:30 P.M. The meeting was called to order by President Charles Patterson. A moment of silence was observed, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. President Patterson announced that the minutes and treasurer�s report are posted on our website.Other announcements included a request for articles for the annual. Any member interested in running for office of the Lafayette Genealogy Society please inform President Patterson. Jean Kiesel reported that the book, �A Pictorial History of Lafayette,� which she has edited, is due out on September 24, 2007. Up to eighty books will be available to the membership for a twenty per cent discount. Dottie Burleigh moved that the society purchase ten books; James Bourque seconded the motion.  The motion was approved.

President Charles Patterson presented the program, �Digitizing, Enhancing, and Organizing Your Pictures and Documents.�  A question and answer period followed.

Jackie Larson moved to close the meeting; James Bourque seconded the motion.  The meeting was adjourned.
