The August 2008 meeting of the Lafayette
Genealogical Society was held in
the Meeting
Room of the Main Branch of the Lafayette
Public Library on August 21, 2008
at 6:30
P.M. President Earl Gates called
the meeting
to order. There was a moment of
silence for
our military and friends, and the
Pledge
of Allegiance was given.
The minutes and treasurer�s report
are posted
on the internet at our web site.
President Gates recognized visitors
to the
meeting. He encouraged people who
are interested
in starting genealogy research to
begin with
a pedigree chart and to interview
their oldest
relatives to acquire names, dates,
and information
for ease in their search
Charles Patterson gave a power point
presentation
on web sites that are helpful in
genealogy
research and organizing the information
that
members have.
There being no further business,
the meeting
was adjourned.
