The Lafayette Genealogical Meeting on June 21, 2012, was called to order by President Brenda Fuselier. There was a moment of silence for our deceased ancestors and those who have served or are currently serving our country, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Guests for the June meeting were Mr. Walter Vincent, Ms. Judith O'Neil, and Mr. Kenneth Broussard.

LGS member, Everett Thompson gave a very interesting presentation on DNA. He discussed his DNA testing which he did through Ancestry.com DNA Testing.

Warren LeBlanc, Treasurer, gave the Treasurer's report: beginning balance $3,036.03. Have 6 new members and 24 unpaid members.

Warren has the key to the storage unit.

Cemetery projects are on-going.

1940 Louisiana Census indexing is complete and is available at familysearch.com.

Pat Snyder had a request from California looking for a Shaw married to a Burleigh.

A thank you note was received from Jackie Lawson's family.
