The Lafayette Genealogical Society held it's monthly meeting on August 16th, 2012. Brenda Fuselier, President, called the meeting to order, with a moment of silence for our ancestors and those who have served or currently serving in the military, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Warren LeBlanc, Treasurer, reported that last month's beginning and ending balance was $ 3,168.65 – with no income or expenses paid.

Pete Lavergne will send out letters to members that have not renewed their membership.

Earl Gates gave a presentation on American State Papers. There is a wealth of information that can be found in the papers, such as dates of births, marriages, deaths, including parents, siblings and children's names.

James Bourque motioned to adjourn, Lona Bourque 2nd, meeting adjourned. Members enjoyed refreshments.
