LAFAYETTE - Funeral serv�ices will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007, at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Lafayette for Woodley Phillip Hebert, 79, who passed away peacefully sur�rounded by his children June 12, 2007 at his residence in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

The Rev. John DeLeeuw will be the celebrant of the funeral. Eu�charistic minister will be Larry Hebert. Giftbearers will be Rosie and Meredith Hebert. Lectors will be Jo Ann Tanner and Donna Landry. Eulogy will be by Ro�land Lormand. Music will be by Phyllis Simar, organist, and Ron Moreau, soloist.

Mr. Hebert's survivors include one son, Terry Phillip Hebert and his wife, Meredith Perez Hebert, of Lafayette; twin daughters, Michelle Theresa Hebert, of La�fayette, and Elizabeth Ann Marquez and her husband, SSG Rene' Marquez, of Fort Hood, Texas; devoted mother of his chil�dren, Rose Marie Racca Hebert, of Lafayette; and two step�children, Troy Marc Green, of La�fayette, and Donna G. Landry and her husband, David, of Baytown, Texas.

Surviving him are his grand�children whom he adored; his six granddaughters, Shai Michelle, Sadi Marie, Ariana Raye, Isabelle Rose, Demi Lane, Zoe Lyndon; and his only grandson, Christian Phillip. He is survived by his be�loved brother, Larry John Hebert; his niece, Jo Ann Hebert Tanner and her husband, Clifford Tanner, all of Scott, La.; his great niece, Amy Jo Broussard and her husband, Darrell, of Youngsville; and his great nephew, John Tan�ner and his wife, Jeri Terri, of Ville Platte, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred Hebert and Olive Trahan Hebert; and his sister-in-law, Lucille Delhomme Hebert.

Born Aug. 2, 1927 in Kaplan, La. and a resident of Lafayette for most of his life, Mr. Hebert graduated from Lafayette High School in 1945. He was a graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder class of 1954, with a Degree in Pharmacy. He was a member of Rho Chi Society, past parish president and member of St. Elizabeth-Seton Catholic Church, Treasurer for Confederation of Associations of Families Acadian, Inc.,(CAFA) and was a member of the Knights of Colum�bus, The Laredo Dove Hunting Group and The original Camp Rouge Duck Hunting Club. He shared his love and enthusiasm for the LSU Tigers with every�one, and his ulitmate goal was to take each grandchild to their first LSU football game.

He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy and USNR from 1945 -1953. He was employed as a Professional Phar�maceutical Representative for Merck Sharpe & Dohme from 1956 until his retirement in 1991. His passions included the profes�sion of pharmacy, his Cajun Her�itage, his extensive genealogy research, The Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic and last but not least his passion for a beautiful lawn. He spent many hours laboring in his yard in silent bliss.

Dear to his heart were his fam�ily and friends. He was a loving father and grandfather, a faithful friend and confidant, a devoted brother, son, and a hard worker his entire life. He valued a job well done and was a true believer that "anything worth doing was worth doing well". He was an avid duck and dove hunter, en�joyed the company of good friends and good food especially Jan's chicken and sausage gum�bo.

What endeared him to many was his doting nature towards his grandchildren. Affectionally known as "PawPaw", he spent countless hours giving tractor rides, making "coosh-coosh" on Sunday mornings, rocking his grandchildren to sleep, and was delighted when his home was fil�led with his grandchildrens' laughter. He cherished every mo�ment with them and each had a special place in his heart.

Mr. Hebert was a voice of rea�son to many, a notorious organiz�er, an optimist at heart, and most of all he loved well and was well loved. His presence will be missed by many.

Pallbearers will be Terry Hebert, Troy Green, David Landry, SSG Rene' Marquez, Clifford Tanner and John Tanner.

Honorary pallbearers will be his brother, Larry Hebert, his best friends, Roland Lormand and William Bernard, MD, his Camp Hebert compadre, Kernel Menard, his long-time barber and friend, Mr. J.C. Camel, and both past and present members of the Laredo Dove Hunting Group and Camp Hebert Duck Hunting Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family re�quests that donations be made in Mr. Hebert's name to the Lafay�ette Community Health Care Clinic, 1317 Jefferson St, Lafayette, LA 70501, and Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503.

The family would like express their gratitude and appreciation for the excellent and professional care he received from Hospice of Acadiana, especially his nurse, Becky, his CNA, Tuwana, Dr. Chastant . and many heartfelt thanks to his compassionate and dedicated caregiver, Mrs. Mary LeBlanc. The family would also like to thank James Cole, MD, Julian Krawczwk MD, and staff for their care and concern.

A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Martin & Castille Funeral Home.

The family requests that visita�tion be observed Friday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and will contin�ue Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services at Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
