New Woman’s Club Book is Available

"The wait is over," said Maxine Brewer, president of the Wolfe County Woman’s Club, "The Club’s eagerly awaited new book is now a reality thanks to the many authors who helped us document and preserve the County’s heritage."

Thelma Carroll Rice, the book’s editor, said the book’s 519 pages contain well over 12,000 names and lots of new family information. She also praised the many family researchers who contributed to the book.

Ms. Rice said the book will be a must-have addition to the library of anyone who has an interest in Eastern Kentucky genealogy and history.

Ms. Brewer said the Club has printed 400 copies of the new book, -200 in a hardbound edition and 200 in a softbound edition. The price is $35.00 for the special black and gold embossed hardbound edition and $25.00 for the green softbound edition. All proceeds from the sale of the book will be used for community projects.

The book is available from Billye Adams, the Chief Librarian at the Public Library in Campton, or from any member of the Club. Out-of-town purchasers can send a check for the cost of the book plus an additional $4.00 for postage and handling to Ms. Adams at: PO Box 10, Campton, Kentucky, 41301-0010. Checks should be made payable to the Wolfe County Woman’s Club.

Ms. Adams said that Americans continue to have a great interest in genealogy. "Our first book was a best seller," she added, "this one will be as well. It’s an attractive, informative book."
