A few months ago Ken and Linda Kistner contacted me about a 1940 Centennial commemorative issue of The Providence Enterprise they own. They said it contained Frances Bassett Price's history of Providence and some interesting material about the town and the families who have lived there. Linda contacted the newspaper and received their permission to place the information on the Webster County KYGenWeb page. She also volunteered to do the typing herself and transmit the material to me via e-mail.You can begin reading this history of Providence by clicking on the link below.
