James MUIR, 83, died at 5 a.m. Sunday at his home in Clay following several weeks' illness. Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Birdie PRITCHETT Muir; one daughter, Mrs. Bryan BLANKENSHIP of Dixon; one son, Clifton Muir of Boise City, Okla.; one brother, George Muir of Beaver, Okla.; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Clay First Baptist church, of which he was a member, with the pastor, the Rev. G.R. ABERNATHY, officiating. Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery in Clay.

Mrs. Madge Sandidge MUNFORD, wife of R.M. Munford, publisher of the Union County Advocate, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at her home in Morganfield after a long illness. Survivors are the husband; a son, Tyler Munford; and a grandson, all of Morganfield. Funeral services were set for 10 a.m. Today at the home, with the Rev. Truett MILLER officiating. Burial was to be in Odd Fellows cemetery, Morganfield. Providence Journal-Enterprise, Thursday, August 18, 1949.
Roy M. MUNFORD, retired publisher, died suddenly of a heart attack in his home at Morganfield Saturday afternoon. He was 72. Mr. Munford and his son, Tyler, founded the Union County Advocate at Morganfield in 1924. Well-known in Kentucky newspaper circles, he remained active as publisher of The Advocate until he retired about a year ago. Mr. Munford started his career in his native Elizabethtown, Ky., at the age of 16, as a printer on the Elizabethtown News. Later he operated a printing business there and in 1912 became interested in the Larue County Herald, Hodgenville, which he published until moving to Morganfield in 1924. He was a former member of the Morganfield city council and had long been active in democratic politics. He was a member of the Morganfield Baptist church, the Masonic lodge, and the Shrine at Madisonville. In addition to his son, Mr. Munford is survived by his wife Mary Virginia; two sisters, Mrs. Mary H. HUDSON, of Louisville, Mrs. Betty STOUT, of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Thomas B., of Elizabethtown, and Will, of Boston, Ky. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Morganfield Baptist church with the Rev. H.C. ZACHRY officiating. Burial was in the Odd Fellows cemetery.

Mrs. Amelia W. TRADER MYERS died Friday at 3 a.m. at her home here.
Mrs. Myers was born in Webster county on Jan. 16, 1853, and had been a
lifelong resident of the county. She professed faith in Christ at an
early age and joined the White Oak church. She lived a devoted
Christian life. Survivors are the husband, H.L. Myers; two sons, S.D.
RINEHAMMER and J.A. Rinehammer; six grandchildren, and eleven
great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at White Oak
church with the Rev. Charlie HOWARD officiating. Burial was in White
Oak cemetery. Providence Journal-Enterprise, Thursday, October 15,

Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie MYRES, 69, of Slaughters, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert SAULS, in Sebree Tuesday night, Feb. 14, were held at the Slaughters Methodist church Thursday. The Rev. T.O. KYLE officiated and burial was in Odd Fellows cemetery in Madisonville. Survivors are the husband, Roman Myres; six daughters, Mrs. Herbert GIBSON and Mrs. Charley WHITSELL, of Slaughters, Mrs. Charley NELSON and Mrs. Fate LUTZ, of Hanson, Mrs. Archie Lee BROOKS, Evansville, and Mrs. Sauls, of Sebree; two sons, Boyd, of Evansville, and Williams, of Detroit, Mich.; 26 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Cale KIRKWOOD, Madisonville, and Artie Kirkwood, Evansville; and two sisters, Mrs. Ed GOTTMAN, Nebo, and Mrs. Billie SISK, Madisonville.
