Beatrice (CARY) LIGGETT, 79, of Evansville, died at 2 p.m. Friday at Holiday Health Care. She retired in 1981 as a pharmaceutical inspector after 27 years at Mead Johnson. She attended Terrace Parks General Baptist Church and was a member of American Association of Retired Persons, Kiwanis Golden K, Mead Johnson Retirees and Silver Striders. Surviving are two daughters, Jeanette HOOK of Murphysboro, Ill., and Jacquelyn VAN MIEGHEM of Chicago; two sons, Joe Cary Liggett of Falls Church, Va., and Jerry L. Liggett of Carlisle, Ind.; a brother, Parker Cary of Madisonville, Ky.; nine grandchildren, Timothy and Tyler VanMieghem, Caryn O'SULLIVAN, Jill STONER, Jennifer VAUGHT, Ann Marie and Kathleen Liggett, Wesley SCHULZ and Andrew NEEDLING; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Lebanon Baptist church near Sebree, Ky., the Revs. Gaylon PRICE and Kent FAHL officiating, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at Boone Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Ave. and from 11 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the church. Funeral services for Cpl. Arthur Jean LIGON, who was killed in action in Korea on April 11, 1951, were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. R.H. CARTER officiated and burial was in Cumberland Hill cemetery. Military rites were conducted by Dan Wiley Post 168, American Legion, and soldiers from Camp Breckinridge. Cpl. Ligon, son of Arthur and Odie Ligon, who survive, was born in Chicago on September 4, 1930, and lived in Providence as a child. He attended high school in Champaign, Ill., and enlisted in the U.S. Army January 18, 1949, immediately following his graduation. He landed in Korea on December 29, 1950.

Mrs. Delia LILES, 94, of Sebree, died at 11:55 p.m. Thursday at Kentucky Rest Haven in Madisonville. Surviving are a son, Sam Liles, San Francisco, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Bud MELTON of West Paducah and Mrs. Lillie GRIFFITH, near Corydon; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Springfield Funeral Home in Sebree, with the Rev. Bill SALES officiating.

Waldo T. LILES, 33, of Dixie, Henderson county, was killed Friday at
3:30 p.m. at the Main street crossing in Sebree when the car he was
driving was struck by the Dixie Flagler, Chicago to Miami streamliner
on the L&N railroad. He was enroute to a garage in Sebree to have
repairs made on his car, and was within 100 feet of his destination
when the accident occurred. Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs.
John Liles of Dixie, and three sisters, Miss Marvis Liles of
Owensboro, Miss Aileen Liles, Dixie, and Mrs. Estella EVANS, Corydon.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Poole at 2:30
p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. POSEY of Owensboro officiating. Burial was

Funeral services for Mrs. Annie LINK, 79, who died Monday morning at her home near Slaughters, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Slaughters Baptist church. The Rev. E.G. SISK officiated and burial was in Slaughters cemetery. Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Mayme JACKSON, of Onton, Mrs. Dolly CROWLEY, of Slaughters, Mrs. Nannie CLICK, and Mrs. Nona FARQUHAR, of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Lola OGLESBY, of Detroit, Mich.; one son, Ulysses, of Los Angeles; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lowell Cicero LINK, 31,of Slaughters, died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday in Hopkins County Hospital in Madisonville where he had been a patient for several days. Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Ruth Link; parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.S. Link; a brother, Sidney Link; and a sister, Mrs. Ennis NEWTON, all of the Slaughters section. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday in Vanderburg Baptist church, with the Rev. C.R. TOWNSEND, of Evansville, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Archie OLIVER, of Dixon. Burial was in Slaughters cemetery

Odie Smith LINK, 59, died Monday, June 29, at his home near Slaughters following a long illness. Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Erma Link; one daughter, Mrs. Ruby NEWTON, and one son, Sidney Link, all of Slaughters; three sisters, Mrs. B. DENNIS, Mrs. Beulah CATES, and Mrs. Kate MITCHELL, all of Dixon; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Harmony Church, with the Rev. E.G. SISK officiating, assisted by the Rev. Amos KIRKWOOD. Burial was in Slaughters cemetery.

Funeral services for Jimmy LIPFORD, 19, who was burned fatally
Thursday morning when fire destroyed his home in Clay, were held
Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Clay Methodist church. The Rev. R.G.
SHAVER, pastor, officiated. Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Clay.
When filling out his selective service questionnaire, the youth wrote
the following remarks: "I am ready at any time to fight for my country
and will take it with a smile when called upon. I am ready and
willing." The boy's mother, Mrs. J.A. Lipford, who received serious
burns, is in the Sturgis hospital. While it is expected that some
time will be required for the burns to heal, it is thought now that

Herman Luther (Prodge) LITCHFIELD, 44, died at 11:45 a.m. Friday at his home on Princeton street as the result of a heart attack. Although he had been in ill health for the past two years, his death came as a distinct shock to his many friends. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John W. Litchfield, he was born and reared in Providence. He formerly operated a bowling alley here. He was married Jan. 17, 1927 to Miss Beatrice CROWELL, who survives. Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Key MARAMAN and Mrs. Guy RICE, Providence; and a brother, James Litchfield, Springfield, Ill. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at the home, with the Rev. C.W. DUFFER officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery. Providence Journal-Enterprise, Thursday, September 16, 1948.
John Wesley LITCHFIELD, 73, died at his home on Union street at 2:10
p.m. Saturday as the result of a stroke which he suffered at 8:30 p.m.
Thursday. Mr. Litchfield was born and reared in Christian county. He
was married on June 6, 1894 to Miss Mattie Averis McQUARY. After
coming to Providence he was employed for forty years by the Providence
Coal Mining Company, retiring four years ago because of ill health
caused by high blood pressure and heart trouble. Survivors are the
wife, Mattie; two daughters, Mrs. Guy RICE and Mrs. Key MARAMAN,
Providence; two sons, Herman L. Litchfield, Providence, and James
Litchfield, Springfield, Ill.; three grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; a brother, Lucien Litchfield, Hopkinsville, and a
half-brother, William DRIVER of Kelly Station. Funeral services were
held at 2 p.m. Monday at Tapp Funeral Home, with the Rev. W.T.
WINSTEAD officiating. Pallbearers were Ben HERRINGTON, Johnny
PIERSON, Ed DAVID, T.M. HILL; C.J. MIEDREICH, and Barrett NISWONGER.
Burial was in Big Hill cemetery. Providence Journal-Enterprise, Thursday,

Mrs. Louise LITER, sister of Roy PATTERSON, Clay Route 2, and who made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Patterson for two years, died Sunday at her home in St. Louis, Mo. Other survivors are two sons, William Newton Liter and James Louis Liter of Paris; father, R.H. Patterson, Lexington; a brother, Rhodes Henry Patterson of Harrisburg, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. Sara SAUNDERS of Lexington; and a grandson, Gregory Liter of Paris. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Patterson went to Lexington Monday to await arrival of the body. Funeral arrangements were incomplete, but funeral and burial were to be in Paris.

David Ellis LITTLEPAGE, 56, died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday at his home in Wheatcroft. Surviving are the wife, Nellie; three sons, Ellis Edward and Garland G. Littlepage, of Evansville, and Franklin, of Wheatcroft; one brother, Charlie, of Evansville; and two sisters, Mrs. Margery HOPPER, Evansville, and Mrs. Willie VEACH, Orlando, Fla. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Union Church in Wheatcroft, with the Rev. Bob WALLACE officiating. Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Clay.

Jim LITTLEPAGE, 67, whose home was near Providence, died Sunday in Western State Hospital, Hopkinsville. Survivors are
two nieces, Mrs. Hubert FREDERICK and Mrs. Lala HUDSON, Detroit, Mich. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m Wednesday
at Liberty church, with the Rev. Oscar DUNCAN officiating. Burial was in Liberty cemetery.

T.H. LITZKOW, 89, father of R.E. Litzkow, of Providence, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday at his home in Groton, S.D. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters. Funeral and burial will be in Groton, probably Friday. R.E. Litzkow left Tuesday night for Groton because of his father's death.
