           Little Zion Church


Judy Tolbert sent this photo she took of Little Zion Church June 25, 2000.

"The cemetery is behind the church. You have to curve around and go up to the cemetery. It was moved and there have been recent graves."

According to "Webster County Church Histories" published in 1991 by the Webster County H&G Society, "the Little Zion Church was organized May 1, 1884.

In 1946, the church was destroyed by fire and it was rebuilt and dedicated the first Sunday in May, 1948.

Founding fathers of the church include: Benonia Stinson, J.H. Dame, Jacob Holeman, C.R. Kinnon, W.A. Miller, Esma Hancock, Tab Leslie, L.H. Henry, J.F. Bumpus, J.H. Iglehart, A.B. Stone, Miles Fraser, W.W. Stone, G.P. Cavanaugh, D.L. Fraser, Absolon Pearce, J.W. Grene, M.B. Covington, and J.H. Kirtley."
