Marriage Licenses Issued in

Scott County, Kentucky

1793-1831

Early manuscripts and documents commonly known as the "Draper Papers" include some interviews and records collected by Rev. John Dabney Shane, but these marriage records were not in the collection purchased by Mr. Draper. The repository for the Draper Papers is the State Historical Society of Wisconsin and the home for the Shane papers is the Presbyterian Historical Association, Philadelphia. Public Library, Fort, Wayne, Indiana.

This folder contains the original marriage license signed by the deputy county clerk. The marriages are listed very legibly on the outside of the folder. Groom, bride and date are in chronological order beginning with No29 (M357m) March 1, 1800 to No55 - August 12, 1831 - a total of 27. The second folder (M-357m2) starts from No1 - December 24, 1793 to No28 - September 24, 1799.
