Simpson County, Kentucky Marriages, 1882-1910, abstracted by Dorothy Donnell Steers for the benefit of the Simpson County Historical Society was published by the Society in May, 2003.  The format of these records has changed during the years.  In addition to names of brides and grooms and dates of marriage, the book includes the place of residence, age, number of marriage, and birthplacs of not only the brides and grooms but their parents, the occupation of he groom, the bondsman, and the names of witnesses and person performing the ceremony.  In some instances the place whee the ceremony took place is included.  Beginning in June 1901, the names of the parents of both bride and groom are included.  Beginning in 1904, the names of witnesses, surety on bond and minister were omitted in order to conserve space.  This book is interesting to those with Simpson County roots not only for the years 1882-1910 but for the preceding years which would have included the parents of the bridal parties.  There are also a good many marriages between persons living in areas other than Simpson County.  Price: $31.80
