OBEDIAH 4.
{James Harrison 3., Jesse 2., William 1.} was the 5th child of Joseph Harrison
Daugherty and Elizabeth Ashcraft. He was born 10 Feb 1846 in Pendleton County
and died 9 March 1901. He was first
married to Elizabeth Spilman Bird, b. 15 Dec. 1870.
They had three children: 1.
Sarah E."Mollie" b. 3 Oct 1871, d. 27 Sept. 1894.
2.
William b. 28 June 1873, d. unknown m. Cora Hensley on 5 Feb, 1896.
3.
Harriet b. 4 Feb. 1875, d. 8 Aug 1875.
After Elizabeth's death Obediah married
Mary Frances Taylor, d/o Festus Taylor and Sarah Ann Hopkins, on 8 Feb 1877.
To this union were born nine children:

BENJAMIN FRANKLIN DOUGHERTY, b. 1
Sept 1878, d. 23 July 1977. He
married Alta Phillips on 3 Aug 1906. She
was b. 19 Oct 1882 in Hookstad, Illinois, d/o James David Phillips and Elnora
Rash, d. 17 July 1971 in Booneville, Iowa.
Both she and Ben are buried there. (Ben
took the spelling of Dougherty, as did all the others except Cash, Ward and
Anna, following Obediah’s spelling.)

Dougherty, b.15 June 1907 in Springfield Illinois m. Clara N. Smith, from
Franklin County, Iowa, on 26 June 1942. She
died 1 April 1986, buried in Buckeye, Iowa.

Dougherty b. 13 July 1908, m. Mabel Cassidy on 7 July 1928, d/o William Finley
Cassidy and Senna Florence Farran. She
was b. 4 Dec 1910.
1.3 Edna
Dougherty, b. 31 Jan 1915, m. Lawrence Consolver on 13 Sept 1934. He died 10 Dec 1969.
He was born in Des Moines, Iowa.
1.4 Robert Dale
Dougherty, b. 10 Aug 1916, m. Dorothy Cassidy on 10 July 1936, d/o William
Finley Cassidy and Senna Florence Farran.

RICHARD DOUGHERTY, b. 8 July 1880, Pendleton Co.,
Kentucky, d. 26 Jan, 1957 in Phoenix Arizona, m. Mae Craig, of Oakwood,
Illinois, on 12 Feb 1907, b.

buried in Oakwood, Illinois. They
had no children.

JOHN WESLEY DOUGHERTY, b. 11 May 1882, d. 3 July 1956.
John never married but spent part of the year living with his Mother as
long as she was on the farm. He is
buried at Gardnersville Cemetery.

CLAUDE ELMER DOUGHERTY, b. 13 Sept 1884, d. 22 June 1963,
m. Reba Marie Tillotson, date unknown. Both
are buried at Stryker, Ohio. They
had one daughter.

then married 8 Feb 1940, Cora Brann Daugherty {widow of Albert Cassius
Daugherty}, d/o William Brann and Anna Callen, b. 25 Feb 1882, d. 16 May 1960 in
Phoenix, Arizona. Luther is buried
at Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Phoenix Arizona. Cora is buried at
Gardnersville Cemetery. Luther and
Essie had three children:

Bert Loomis on 17 Feb 1917. He was
born 7 Nov 1896, d. 7 Oct 1971, s/o Bill Loomis and Maud Kidwell. Both are buried at Gardnersville Cemetery.
They resided in Boone Co. Kentucky.

Mary Frances Taylor's Pedigree
ROBERT
TAYLOR: According to tradition, oral history and manuscripts, the Anglo-American
ancestry begins with Dr. Robert Taylor, who was born in London, England, near
the beginning of the century. His
parents were born in Scotland and came to London to avoid religious persecution.
From the Taylor papers, it was learned that their son Robert was a
graduate of Oxford College in Oxfordshire, England. Eventually, Dr. Robert
established himself as a physician in Philadelphia.
Shortly thereafter, he was called to assist a badly injured man who had
been thrown from a horse. When he arrived on the scene, he was surprised to see
a handsome young lady giving assistance. She
was Philadelphia Adkins, who had witnessed the accident. Not long thereafter,
Dr. Robert and the young lady married and to them four children were born.

TAYLOR married 8 Nov. 1755 to Elizabeth Summers {maternal lineage}.

TAYLOR married Hannah Brown {fraternal lineage}.

TAYLOR, b. 6 July 1725, Richmond Co., Va - d. 1785, Washington, Mason Co., Ky;
md.18 March 1755, Stafford Co.,Va. to Elizabeth Summers. The maiden name of
Elizabeth's mother was Edwards. In
St. Paul's Parish register, Stafford Co. Va., there is a listing for the
marriage of Michael Summers and Hannah Edwards on 12 May 1724. Elizabeth was born on 5 Dec.1740. John moved his family to Frederick Co.,Va. in 1782.
He then moved to Sroud's Station where they remained until the fall of
1784, when they moved to Tates Creek in Madison Co.
In the fall of 1785, they moved near Limestone {present day Washington}
in Mason Co. Elizabeth was buried in the Taylor family cemetery at Flour
Creek in Pendleton Co. They had
three children. Our relative is:
2.2 REV. JOHN TAYLOR was born in 1760 in Prince William County, Virginia.
According to the 1799 and 1800 Pendleton Co. tax lists, John owned 600 acres at
Flour Creek. Per history of "Kentucky Baptists 1769-1885" by J.H.
Spencer, John Taylor was a member and minister at the Flour Creek Baptist
Church. John's wife's name was
Polly {?}. He died 29 Jan. 1829 and he and his wife are buried in the old Taylor
Cemetery at Flour Creek. They had six children. Our relative is:

Pendleton, Co. to GEORGE TAYLOR s/o William and Hannah Brown.

3.9 GEORGE B. TAYLOR was born 1 Feb. 1769 in Stafford Co.Va., and died 4
March 1853 in Pendleton, Co. Ky. He married 29 March 1802 in Pendleton Co. to
Elizabeth Taylor d/o Rev, John Taylor and Polly {?} Taylor.
Both are buried at Flour Creek in Butler. They had ten children. Our
