              Dear Brother

Yours of the 25th came duly to hand  and it is a Source of grate pleasure to hear from you which is so dear to me and a brother whom I never expected to hear from again.  I have never heard from you since you left Kentucky some twenty odd years ago. You probably may imagine my glow of fealing on the occasion  as it is the same with you to hear of a lost brother. You wish me to give you all the information I can as to our relations  I shall speak of none but our brothers and Sisters  though I exceedingly regret to say that I have not keptup any correspondence with any of them for several years   but I will give you such information as I have - I disremember whether you left Kentucky before our Father died or not. I think he died in 1834 and Brother James probably died the same year our Mother died  some three years after. I was in Kentucky in 1835 - Sister Polly had married the second time and moved to the State of Missouri  I have never heard of her since   Brother Robert you know left Kentucky some years before that time  he is also dead. Died in Apl 1837 -- he married twice and left a wife and Six children to mourn his loss  but they are very well provided for   they are in good circumstances and I am his representative in law, he lived in Hinds County in this State  Myself I will say nothing about in this letter  Only I am well and have never marryed. Sister Susan marryed Jacob Stephens of your acquaintance and had seven children  and died 23rd Sept 1851  One of her children a few days after her death  Her youngest child was an infant at her death   Sister Agness has it  The other children was scattered among their friends  it has been two years Since I have heard from them. Sister Elizabeth marryed Squire Baker of your acquaintenance and moved to the State of Illinois  they had nine children when last heard from   Sister Catharine marryed Thomas Miles   they live in the neighborhood of Newport in Kentucky and have Six children.  Sister Missouri marryed Peter Miles,  Thomas brother  and lives in the same neighborhood and have ten children living.  Sister Agness married David Mayall and is living in Alexandria Kentucky  they have no children of their own.  Brother John left Kentucky in 1839 and the last time I heard from him he lived in Galena Illinois. Brother Nicholas died in Cincinnati Ohio about ten years ago  this is the best information I can give you. I will give you a history of myself in my next letter  Wright me on the recept of this  Give my respects to Your Family -----

                                                                Yours Respectfully

                                                                 ALFRED CLARK
