The bottom of the stone states:
Mary Mountjoy was Born July 13, 1760 And Died At Falmouth, KY. March 16, 1839

Col. John Mountjoy married Mary Ann Garrard
who died, 1823.  He was born 1741 and died 1826.  Married in
Stafford County, Virginia.  Colonel Mountjoy was with General
George Washington when he crossed the Delaware River to surprise
the Hessian forces.  There were six children:  William John,  John,
Elizabeth, Mary Anne, Moriah (husband killed in Battle of River
Raisin, 1813) and Margaret.

     Alvin Mountjoy was in the Battle of Princetown,
Brandywine and Germantown.  After the revolution, Alvin served on a
committee of 3 to select the first site of the Bourbon County
Courthouse at Paris, Ky.
