The
Society is a non-profit organization. The officers and staff are volunteers. The
primary goal is to collect and preserve the records of Pulaski County and
materials relating to its history.
Membership
is $3.00 per year, and may be mailed.
If you wish to receive a membership card, please send a SASE.
A
Newsletter is mailed to current members in May and November. Any member can
submit a query of 50 words or less. We also print articles relating to a
Pulaski family, place or event. We reserve the right to edit. Notices of family
reunions are also welcome.
Family
files (donated) are maintained by the Society. Family sheets, charts and
materials are appreciated. If requested, we will copy your donated material and
return the original promptly.
Our
shelves contain family books (donated) and “books” bound from materials in the
files. For the office researcher we have books from surrounding counties as
well as from Kentucky, Tennessee. Virginia, North and South Carolina.
The
staff does not do in-depth research. For a
limited search a fee of $5.00 per family is required. All written
enquiries must include a SASE. You will be advised by return mail of any
information available and any charges for copying. Individuals may do further
research from our published records.
Photocopies
of ORIGINAL Marriage Bonds and consent forms for the years 1799-1871
will be duplicated and certificated by the staff for $1.00 each.
Available copies of ORIGINAL Wills will be duplicated and certificated
for $2.00 each document. The list of
available Wills is in the back of the INDEX TO WILLS.
Request
for wills, deeds, etc. should be sent to the County Clerk Office, Pulaski
County Court House, Somerset, KY 42501. Court House hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30
PM Monday through Friday. (EST)
